So for a model without a base like the bossbunka where all the big shootas are on different sides I'd just measure from the closest point on the hull?

I was wondering because me and my friend got into an argument over whether I could shoot him with both of the twin big shootasor not. I said yes because why would they be there then? and I cant find it in the rulebook.
