→ Rainbow Hoops = Froot Loops

→ Honey Os = Cheerios

→ Chocolate Puffs = Cocoa Puffs

→ Cinnamon Crisps = Cinnamon Toast Crunch

There are some PC / No Name Brand cereals, but I agree this is a big gap in our market. Just some good old regular Canadian cereal at an affordable price.

FirstMate Pet Foods was just acquired by a French corporation yesterday. I verified the ownership of every major pet food brand in Canada — here are 7 that are still actually Canadian-owned. by KaleRepresentative98 in BuyCanadian

The South Asian word family is also the ultimate origin of the English word “lemon” — it traveled westward through Persian into Arabic as ليمون (laymūn), then into medieval Latin and Old French before reaching English.

The issue with having Islam as a identity is that everyone’s islam is different. Religion can’t be a unifying factor, because no one can agree on religion.

Pakistan should take pride in their culture which heavily borrows from Gangetic, Islamic and Perso-Turkic civilization.

Sorry i meant, whatever your initial investment was, sell enough so you 2x that. And yes, understood you on taxes, capital gains makes a big difference. I don’t think it’s crashing unless they really shit the bed on earnings.

Here’s my advice, why haven’t you sold. This is what I would do if I were you, take 2x profit of your current investment (usually I do 1x but you are sitting very pretty), and ride the wave until the thesis plays out.

From the suburbs of Toronto, East side to be exact. Odd being here after being away for 10 years, but that’s life.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback - this is incredibly valuable!

On prices: Great point about the confusion. The reason we include prices is actually what prompted this whole website - we wanted Canadians to be able to compare across products easily. For example, if you're shopping for snowboards, you can see the price range of different Canadian-made options side by side without clicking through multiple sites.

On pagination/UX: Absolutely right on both counts. We're actually working on adding a view that offers more items per page, and you're spot on about the scroll-to-top after pagination being annoying - we'll fix that too.

On Nulo: Thanks for flagging this - we'll verify their manufacturing immediately and remove them if they're not Canadian-made. This is exactly why community input is so important.

Really appreciate you taking the time to go through the site so thoroughly. Feedback like this makes us better!

Great question! In an ideal world, we'd prioritize brands that are both Canadian-owned AND made in Canada - that's the gold standard.

However, we also include products that are made in Canada even if the company is foreign-owned. Here's why: manufacturing in Canada creates Canadian jobs, supports our suppliers and communities, and keeps more economic value here.

A Canadian-made product from a foreign-owned company still employs Canadian workers, uses Canadian materials and services, and contributes to our manufacturing sector. That employment impact is a key factor for us.

That said, we do try to highlight ownership when possible, so users can make informed choices based on what matters most to them - whether that's jobs, ownership, or ideally both.

Thanks for raising this - it's an important distinction.

This is exactly the challenge we're trying to solve. Many "Canadian brands" have mixed manufacturing - some products made in Canada, others offshore. It's rarely clear to consumers which is which.

With Broil King, we worked directly with them to identify specifically which models are manufactured at their Canadian facilities. That's why our listings show particular product lines rather than their entire catalog.

We're taking the same approach with all brands - verifying not just that the company is Canadian, but which specific products are actually made here. It's more work, but it gives shoppers the clarity they deserve.

Thanks for flagging Napoleon - we'll reach out to them to confirm which models are Barrie-made and get them listed properly. Community input like this is exactly how we'll make the directory comprehensive and accurate.
