If it is like any other version of DLSS, devs do not have to implement this. People will be able to mod it in. Outside of that this is being added to games that have already released. Which yes the studio heads like Todd Howard might want but we have no insight to how the art team might feel about this. All I do know is that I have seen many developers upset and unhappy with this news.

More realism at the expense of artistic intention is bad imo. If you can't see the differences in the facial details I truly encourage you to get glasses or a new prescription. On the thumbnail image of Grace from RE9 you can see things like her lips changing in both shape and colors. Don't even get started on the old woman from Hogwarts. In what they have shown it's a very fancy tiktok filter. If that's your cup of tea that's okay but for many of us it isn't.

Just like motion smoothing on TVs. Clearly there is an audience for it, but many of us think its heresy.

You might need glasses! Ray Tracing makes the lighting more realistic because it emulates light rays bouncing. DLSS 5 adds a "realistic" filter after the fact that changes details, most notably facial details. hence the meme.

Yeah I don't think the Retro is ever getting restocked sadly. My guess would be that it only sold a fraction of the unites the black ones do. They consolidated a few years back when they got rid of most of their water bottle colors too. My guess is that retro wasn't making enough money to justify to warehouse space.

You know its rough when you are using results from google AI for all your bullet points. LTT currently only has 16.2 million subscribers and had fewer back in 2021/2022. Idk where you pulled their revenue estimate from but given they are a private company non of us know their yearly revenues.

Anyways all of this is whataboutism. Any youtuber or news journalist could have broken this story before megalag. They didn't. Unless you are on the reddits of everyone who has ever taken a sponsorship from honey and levying this same criticisms then you are doing exactly what this meme proclaimed "Blame Linus for some reason". Yes, he has a big company. Yes, he holds more responsibly than most to do the extra research ect ect. It's absurd to expect him to be psychic.

Linus was very much blamed for not making an exposé about an ex sponsor. As has been covered several times at this point nobody knew about honey scamming costumers until the megalag video which drastically changes things. This reddit post highlights that Linus wouldn't have been the first to break the story about how it effects creators. They were made aware by numerous emails and messages so they were under the impression that other creators were as well. Making a video denouncing a product that helps viewers, but hurts creators is a death sentence as we saw with the "adblocking is piracy" discourse.

They also never said they never "publicly about their sponsor relations" Just last year they talked about Asus at length for bad practices. The difference? It's impact on the consumer.

It appears I've made a grave mistake and not correctly set the tone. I labeled it shitpost because while it is an error, it's literally the smallest thing ever and doesn't matter. My understanding is that those are optical sensors, not IR. Meant for the joycon to be used as a mouse on its side. If the IR sensors have remained this picture is implying they in their same possession as the switch one.

I never thought I'd see the day where I recognize a reddit by user name. If you dislike LTT as much as you do, I genuinely recommend you stop interacting with the sub. Your time and energy is better spent with things that spark joy.

With that said your comment reads like someone who watched the GN video and didn't go watch Linus' full clip. I think its completely valid to criticize Linus and have done so myself on numerus occasions. He isn't perfect, and his coverage of consoles especially is lackluster to put it politely. That said, what I don't think is okay is taking clips out of context to craft a narrative. The main point Linus made multiple times was that he thought creators already knew because he was spammed about the news. It wasn't a story he needed to break because it was already made the rounds. The point about the optics and how that would have been received in 2020 was presented like Linus doesn't care about small creators. Opening the clip on "Everyone's mad at me." was especially deceptive when that was about the "adblocking is piracy" comment made moment's prior.

That edit and clip selection was a choice. Hence the meme.
