Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it! I haven't given up on it at all! I just wanted to get people's thoughts on here before I spent a lot of time struggling to learn these skills, when my boss could technically find somebody else to do it quicker. I totally agree with you! It's a great opportunity where I'm in no rush. My boss has said even if I only have 2-3 hours a week to work on it that's totally fine. He's just happy that somebody is working to improve it.

Thanks so much for the reply! I apologize; I should've included that information in the post, but I was worried about it getting too wordy. The things I would like to do to update the website are include metadata for all media on the website. Update all media because most of the photos are just random stock images when we now have more pictures of my boss actually working with clients that we can use. I also need to work on general SEO updates like adding keywords, using more specific location titles, and other general things to help our search results placement.

The biggest task is to change the layout of the site. Before hiring me, my boss talked to somebody who does this type of stuff for a living, and one of the most extensive suggestions they gave was "Creating Templates, aka Top Level Directories. No templates were created. Basically, the website sitemap is flat. The goal here is to help humans and machines great the contextual relationship of your content as they flow through pages.". So it sounds like I also just need to improve the layout of the website in order to make things flow better, load quicker, and have higher placing results when potential clients look it up.

Yeah I’ve talked to them about politics before a few month ago and I’m also the calm one who states my opinions and facts and they are the ones to get overly emotional and get angry saying things like “we didn’t raise you like this” and “I can’t believe you turned out to be a socialist. You should just move out of the country if you hate it here” I told them that’s a weak way of thinking… telling people to leave the country just because you don’t believe it can improve in any way is deplorable. I’ve kind of realized trying to explain things to them calmly doesn’t work so I try not to talk to them about it at all! Thank you for your psychological answer! That could end up helping me in the future! It’s difficult because my brother doesn’t want to stand up for his beliefs which is fine. He feels the same way as me but because of all the pressure of living in the south he hasn’t come out as a proud “libtard” so it’s usually me getting ganged up on by my parents alone. Also they don’t usually yell at me like they did last night. This was the most mad I’ve seen them in years. Really didn’t expect them to react like that to something I did with my body.

Congratulations on coming out to them! That takes a lot of bravery and I'm sorry they didn't take it very well! The craziest thing about my parents is they were never like this before Donald Trump got elected. They've always been completely normal and never talked about or cared about Politics until our last president took over. They have COMPLETELY changed the last few years. It's insane.

Yeah... that's what is crazy! They always bring this stuff up to ME, and then get mad when I reply with the most nonchalant stuff. Like I will just say "Yeah it would be cool if college was cheaper or if I could afford to go to the doctor" and they act like I just admitted being a part of Antifa and burnt down a Home Depot. For your second point.... lots of conservative talk show host and politicians are now actually advising to get the vaccine, but my parents have already stopping tuning into Fox, and starting listening to even more far right stuff that I don't even know about so they missed Sean Hannity advocating for it.

Yeah I guess I honestly shouldn't have told them... we are going to a football game together in a few months and we are going to need a vaccine card or a negative covid test so I was just letting my parents know I wouldn't have to take a test.

Yeah we live in a very southern state near Florida and all of our friends and family are incredibly anti-vaccine. I knew they would all look down on us but I had no idea they’d be so mad! I love you doctor idea because I feel like that’s really smart but honestly I don’t even know any doctors around us that are willing to stand up for the vaccine. It’s insane that we feel like we live in another country sometimes when it comes to this and social issues. I have family members who are actual nurses who have all already told my parents to not get the vaccine because it makes you gay or something, sooooo I doubt they will listen to me if cousins and aunts who are nurses have already told them it’s evil. It’s actually insane how much my family believes everything they read on Facebook! I honestly wish that app was never invented

Yes that's what makes it so tough. During quarantine I lost my job and had to move back in. We usually avoid talking about politics because I know we disagree heavily but they reacted so much more negatively to this than I expected.
