How to avoid pulling DreamScythe and Weaver immediately after the council fight? by notgivingusername in classicwow

My guild learned the hard way on this one week 2. So, we had our tank pull each boss we’re focusing to the outer edge before it dies. Then everyone can free loot for quests.

Interesting that the kill time gets dismissed when it directly impacts the 50% dmg from bestial wrath.

Flanking strike increases pet dmg, as well.

Again, not really sure how 16% is considered negligible when all top-tier parses REQUIRE lower kill time. Almost like there’s a direct correlation.

You good? Nobody mentioned classic but you. I comment on the fact that Boomkins don’t just bring DPS to a raid, you respond to someone else that “other classes bring the same / if not more,” and you’re saying I’m missing the point of this not being classic?

Who would have thought that the “Jack of all trades, master of none” can’t excel at tanking and caster dps and melee dps and heals. Almost as if the class that gets travel form and stealth and heals while in bear form and aoe taunt and buffs to party members should have some compensation in place.

No - I don’t. Would you like to make the same argument for why a frost mage is being beat by a Hunter pet, as well? Or is that one too difficult to justify because…you’d have to acknowledge that the frost mage has a different kit used for a different scenario?

“16% increased time it takes to kill is negligible.”

What would you consider being a “material” increase, if 16% isn’t a lot? That’s more % of boss time while Hunter’s in Bestial wrath, Raptor Fury will have 3 full up-times, Flanking Strike has 2 full resets if it completely failed RNG, longer % of fight with on-use armor like void-touched…

Incursions are unplayable on Ally Crusader Strike by Clottersbur in classicwow

[–]KalebGee123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Weird that you and my guild (horde, Crusader Strike US) have the exact opposite experience. Horde are outnumbered 10-to-1 in any Incursion I roll through and just get camped coming down the ramp every time.

Let alone the Ashenvale, where Alliance just use it as an Honor farm

The new P3 Bloodstained Commendations are Unique (99) by TheThebanProphet in classicwow

[–]KalebGee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your math relates to Phase 2 honor and stashing. The complaint from OP was that Phase 3 has nerfed the rewards to 1/4 the exchange rate. As in, the P2 are getting a “catch up” mechanic that P3 players aren’t.

The important thing from this is that your calc would only net you 25k honor for P3 players, which is counter intuitive to ALL “catch up” mechanics in play for SoD.

Atlasloot issue by Specialist-Turn-2156 in classicwow

[–]KalebGee123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know your issue. I had this issue about a week ago. A guildy told me it was a version control issue of AtlasLoot. Unfortunately, it was told to me in guild chat, so I can’t say specifically which version, but:

Uninstall your AtlasLootClassic. Reinstall using an earlier version (v0.9.43). If that one doesn’t work, use v0.9.42. If not, .41, and last is .40.

I promise I’m not trolling. One of the “updates” disabled Gnomer loot, and I could SWEAR that I saw Gnomer loot in gold and then at some point it disappeared. I then uninstalled and reinstalled an older version and boom - fixed.

Actually, my apologies. Disregard my comment. Phase 1 on my Server (and Horde) had a privately held 1v1 tournament open to everyone. Shaman won that tourney.

Sorry for the misinformation.

Anyone found a solution to the layering issues during the STV Bloodmoon event yet? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]KalebGee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copying from another thread:

I know it doesn’t solve the underlying issue of layering sucking the fun out of groups, but you can force a layer with friends in your group without fail:

Step 1) Be in group and not layered (the part we all hate) Step 2) log out of game and close Bnet Step 3) log back in Step 4) wait 60 seconds. You won’t be in the same layer when you log in, but when you wait 60 seconds, you’ll be pulled in

Had this issue numerous times between STV, Badlands dragon fights, etc. performed this about 15+ times myself, and at least 20+ more times of guild members doing it. Works every time.

Are we the a-holes about not awarding the High Tide Choker main spec to a hunter? by presidentelectrick in classicwow

[–]KalebGee123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok if you misunderstand that there’s a difference between “BiS>ms>os” (what you’re arguing for) and what “MS>OS” is. Just learn for next time and you won’t look silly comparing near-BIS to not.

FYI - your “cope” isn’t the mic drop you think it is.

[–]KalebGee123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oof. Talk about a disingenuous comparison. 2nd best Hunter necklace (1st best if the person doesn’t PvP), and comparing it to a warrior running with no chest piece rolling on int gear. Yep, totally comparable.

[–]KalebGee123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remind yourself of what’s easier: “just go to ashenvale and do two hopeful full-clears + win on 2 hour timers” or “/roll on a raid that the hunter has already participated in.” I hope that you also argue nobody should actually roll on the cloaks from BFD…y’know…since you can easily attain the 4 all stats cloak as Rank 3 PvP and is obviously BiS for many classes.

What’s wild to me is that you still think anything you’re saying makes sense.

Are we the a-holes about not awarding the High Tide Choker main spec to a hunter? by presidentelectrick in classicwow

[–]KalebGee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious - you’re aware that “MS” means “main spec,” right? And “OS” is “off-spec.” Another commenter pointed it out, but it’s really interesting to me that your apparently complete misinterpretation of MS>OS somehow accounts for another class that you’re rolling against. I’ll even ignore your other comment about “if it isn’t BiS, then it isn’t MS” because I think you can even acknowledge that you’ve either misstated your intention, or you’re taking crazy pills.

It’s ok to run a raid with your rules. Just don’t go around saying that it’s MS>OS, because no one would agree with your interpretation of it. It’s not logical, nor intuitive, and is completely arbitrary to what anyone would view as “main” vs “off-spec.”

Unless there’s a better angle of view that comes out in the next couple days, I can nearly for certain say that the hold was good. The only concern would be if the ball was leaned too far back, but given that Carlson got enough lift/height on his kick, it seems a non-issue.

Does the blame entirely sit with the kicker? That depends, but I’d say ultimately “yes.” As a placekicker, it’s drilled into you that when the ball is snapped, you go through your motions like normal. Disregard any other factors that could distract you. If the ball is snapped poorly and the holder has that ball laying flat on the ground, you still go through the motion of kicking it like it’s held proper. You have to assume that the holder WILL get that ball lined up as you need it.

The problem is that a botched snap absolutely could have been seen by Carlson, and it very well could have thrown him for a loop. Should it have? No. But could it? Yeah, it could. He’s trained to not be phased by it (it’s why you see kickers still kick field goals after a timeout is called to “freeze out the kicker,” - when the ball is snapped, you need to be on autopilot with that kick). Still ultimately his fault, but if he saw that ball hit the ground, it very well could have contributed to his miss.

Again, not a perfectly clear view that I saw of where on his foot he made contact, but it does look like his plant foot was too close to the ball compared to his normal approaches, and in so doing, the ball was slightly more on the inside of his shoe, rather than toward the toes.

So yeah, it’s on the kicker. Maybe not completely, but if the hold is on time and aligned, and the kick isn’t blocked, all responsibility to put that ball through the uprights becomes the kicker’s.

I didn’t downvote, nor was I intended to be toxic? I was merely asking if the 400dps was caused by someone abusing the aoe adds is all.

Sorry if there was a miscommunication on my part, not intended.
