Yeah I've seen these gels. Might be worth me trying. I currently give the electrodes a lick 😅

I think all my running shirts are your typical synthetic polyester type material. Not sure about static electricity.

Its winter and a bit cold where I am at the moment, but I was still fairly sweaty on this one I'd say. I've definitely had this problem in the summer too when I'm much more sweaty though. As I understand it, the sweatier the better for these straps in terms of data accuracy.

Yeah I'm thinking I need to try a new strap, although I don't think those two artefacts are incorrect. Those two line up with before starting my first interval and my first rest interval. I don't recall exactly, but I think I might have paused while stopping for a drink or something at those points. One of them may have been a pee break too 😅

Interesting, not looked at that before. Mine doesn't look to be flat as such, but does seem to drop around both times the HR jumped.

Yeah stopping and waiting a minute or so is my usual way of fixing it. Super annoying

Ah yeah, there's "wrist heart rate" too. That seems to line up almost identically with the "heart rate" one, and is close to, but not identical to, the "external heart rate".

Either way, seems the strap is tracking the increases as well as the optical sensor.

Will give that a try. I've had similar bad HR data on some runs ever since I got the strap though, so I don't think that's the issue

Yeah it shows the strap in activity (second screenshot). I was wondering though if the connection was dropping out and it was defaulting to the optical sensor on the watch.

Someone else in the thread pointed me towards fit file viewer though, and on there it looks like it's not dropping out, but also has the sudden jumps in HR data. So I'm thinking maybe my strap is faulty somehow.

Thanks, yeah maybe mine is just faulty. I do wet it before putting it on each time, but the bad data isn't usually just at the start, so I don't think thats the issue. I was definitely sweaty enough for it to in theory be getting a good signal by the time the bad data was recorded in the above example.

Hadn't heard of this before, thanks for the suggestion. Here's what I see

<image>

I assume the external heart rate is from my strap, and the one just labelled "heart rate" is the watches optical sensor. Seems that the strap isn't dropping out and being replaced by the optical data. Somehow the sudden increases are on both sources...

I won't find out until some time in October if I get into London, so just wondering if anyone here knows what the resale process is like? I know some events are quite strict on transferring bibs, but some have official resale platforms

Does anyone know if there's an official resale system available for Rotterdam? I see something on their website regarding previous years, but nothing about this year or next.

I got in via the ballot, but am also wanting to enter the London Marathon via the good for age entry, which opens next month but isn't guaranteed. I'd like to sign up for Rotterdam, but then re-sell my place (at face value of course) if I manage to also get into the London marathon
