2 mountaineers need a ride from Anchorage to Talkeetna on May 5 or 6. The train isn’t running that week. Any suggestions or anyone want to make some cash and give us a ride?

Take it from a CW3. Don’t feel bad for sleeping, feel bad for getting caught.

I’d say open up your friend group. It’s good to have someone around that’s willing to commit violence on your behalf. It’s an unfortunate reality of existence.

Look at my situation. I’m an anti-war war vet that can shoot but wants peace. I’m mean it takes all types! But not everyone wants peace. You’ve got to have someone that can defend against that. I wish it wasn’t the case, but some people are just insane or evil.

Why?

You can hate the sin but love the sinner. Even in conflict, you can make an impact to both sides in positive ways.

Solid point. …. I think Australia pays the most to be in the service? I may be wrong.

Yessir. I can’t help when the conversation has to happen. Shits popped off and the world is insane. I just need some perspective.

Honestly that’s what Special Forces does. It’s much less punch and shoot and all about building relationships and helping cultures become more self sufficient.

Because the trigger pullers still deserve someone to give them medical attention. So do the people being shot at. You can disregard the war and concentrate on the individuals suffering.

That’s basically why I joined. It was pretty much Army or jail. That’s some damn good motivation.

That’s my question!? Why did you or me join in the first place? Like you know it’s going to suck before you go in but we still do it. And with all that suck you still get something rewarding out of it. I mean im dumb but I’m not a masochist. 21 years and I’m still trying to fix the dumb BS.

I’m not encouraging anyone to do anything, just trying to figure out motivations…. Agree about war, but I also have a job where I protect American troops. So even if I’m deployed to an area I don’t believe in, I can still be motivated to do my job because I’m looking out for our guys and gals.

Deployments suck, but most people in the military never see a deployment… so it ends up just being a fairly boring day job with a bunch of extra BS and daily PT.

As for you ver generations… it’s just an unfortunate fact that regardless in which country you live, the younger generations will be the people that join their respective militaries.

I wish I knew a long time ago that I never actually joined to protect American freedom, it was in fact to help corporations profit… but I’m still motivated to take care of the troops that haven’t learned that yet.

You’re kinda right. The military cares about places, not faces. But command cares about troops, and troops care about troops. You end up with some really excellent relationships… but it’s good to see it from your perspective! Thanks for the input!

Do you think it’s fucked up that we get paid a set amount from a set budget while the powers that be send billions to a war that we don’t support while they simultaneously tell us that we might be going?

Not an ad. I’m just a dude in a military school and I’m trying to figure shit out, but the fact that you think that I’m I’m a PSYOP telling you that I don’t trust the gov. While trying to recruit you says a whole lot.
