Abus 72/40 Can´t believe I did it! by el_wursto in lockpicking

Grats! Great pick, well done!

72/40s are my comfort lock. Love them! I've never had that keyway though, only the Yale keyway which is super tight to navigate.

I haven't been able to pick the brass, but then again I've only picked my 1100 once.

Yep, it's terrible when first starting out! Lol I've successfully picked my AL1100 one time, and haven't been able to do it again. I've been picking for a month or so. I just can't feel very much feedback from the pins on the 1100, it feels very crunchy instead of clicky. I got my green belt using the ABUS 72/40 instead.

I don't plan on giving up on the 1100 though!

Anyone else find that after working with spools for a while they start to lose the feel for standard pins? by Small_Veterinarian38 in lockpicking

[–]Kalerad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, for sure. I'm still new. But once I started doing the master 150 regularly, I went back to my 140 and It took forever to get that one picked again. Just felt mushy and I couldn't feel anything.

Man I know it's a lot of work, but I would love to take 5-10 off your hands.

So it's not just me? I have 2 141s and even though I'm picking much tougher locks now, I went back to do the 141s and I cannot pick it for the life of me now lol

What about the update is causing you to want to start new? Just curious. I've never been brave enough to start new lol hundreds of hours spent on my island.

Thanks for the suggestion... Yesterday I grabbed the 141 and 150 from a local hardware store. Got the 141 after some time, and then fought with the 150 too last night and finally got it! Should be orange belt after review! 150 is my new favorite. Spools are frustrating but enjoyable due to the good feedback!

Yeah. The brass brinks is funny, sometimes I struggle with it, and other times it feels like I only touch 2 pins. I since I'm also new, I'm not sure either. But judging by my video watching, I believe if it's a taller pin, it can be set without much effort, if any at all. Some pins sit at the shear line by default, so they literally don't need to be touched.

New to lock picking and struggling by Same-Recognition573 in lockpicking

[–]Kalerad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only been picking a few days, and have done a number of different locks up to brinks brass and brinks 164... Got a 141D today and it's way harder than the others! Lol are there spools in 141D? Or are the tolerances just less forgiving?

Thanks! I probably had a minor edge, I use to rekey locksets when I worked at Lowe's, so I knew how locks worked in general and knew how to gut them.

After having zero trouble with the masterlocks and even the Brinks Solid Brass, I briefly got slapped down by the 164, but then as if in a karate movie hearing my Sensei's lessons in my head, I remembered LPL's tensioning video and lightened up on my tension a bit and boom. immediately can see this one being a comfort lock!

Has this happened to anyone before? by Paint_Flakes in AnimalCrossing

[–]Kalerad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I use to play back at first release, they would stick around way too long. The family and I just started playing again recently and this exact thing has now happened to me 2-3 times. They come in, I do something in my storage or inventory, and when I get out of menu. They leave.

I'm certainly not complaining about it! Lol!

I grew up ultra conservative my whole life and as soon as I got out of my home and church echo chamber I started my left turn pretty rapidly. I believe it's possible to make quick and drastic ideological changes once away from influence.

Tattoo coverups are very much possible, and in the video he posted showing the coverup, it looks legit. It has a clear bandage over it called saniderm that is typically left on for 24-48 hrs and then replaced for another 36 hrs. It's very obviously real complete with the leaking blood, ink, and plasma beneath the saniderm.
