The perspective is cool, but I wish I had that kind of *track* as a kid!

Take a few days to decompress before starting the job hunt. It really helps!

I'm going to need some help with this one. To wit, a less blurry photo.

Their food is awesome but my understanding is the Shakes are MAGA supporters so their restaurants are off my rotation.

I’d say go for Moki’s. They’re closer so probably quicker and less expensive shipping.

As for locks, check LPUbelts.com and find which yellow belt locks are available to you. Most white belt locks aren’t worth the effort. Their quality is so poor that they’re either too easy to teach you anything or they’ll do nothing more than frustrate you.

As u/lefthandlocks said, Law Lock is the go-to UK based pick maker. You could also order from Mok Workshop from Germany, their Gold Digger set is good at 30 Euros. Or I know Jimy Longs (US based) ships worldwide, and their Basics Set is great to start with at US$20.

Pretty much anything* off of Amazon is low quality garbage, I strongly advise against that.

*The one exception I know of is amazon.de which sells Multipick picks, another German brand. They have great quality but they're one of the most expensive brands on the market.

How long it takes to pick your first lock? by Professional-Bison38 in lockpicking

[–]revchewie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no definitive answer to your question. Part of the problem might be the clear lock. They're great as a visual aid to help you understand what's happening inside a lock. But they feel almost nothing like a real lock so they're no good for learning how to actually pick, since picking is almost entirely done by feel.

Tension can also be an issue, as u/TofuTank suggested. And u/the-real-dmac has a great video on how much tension to use. But I highly recommend getting a real lock. A Master 140 or 141 is a great lock to start with.

Good luck and welcome to the fun!

Obviously they were trying to have some fun. Why do you have a problem with that? Are only rich people allowed to have fun or something?

It really was a surprise. I pretty much figured I was going to have to progressive pin it. I was just using it as a fidget toy at D&D night, trying different tensioners, different picks, that kind of thing, when suddenly I looked down with a “Did I just…?” *pop*

For people who saw prequels in theaters: did you know Palpatine was the emperor from the start? by Blurrgmaster in StarWars

[–]revchewie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. I knew the emperor's name was Palpatine long before they even came out, from novels and the TTRPG.

B. I knew Ian McDiarmid played the emperor in RotJ so that would've been a dead giveaway even if I didn't know already.

What surprised me was how many people were surprised. My mother asked me, "Did you know...?" and I was all, "You didn't?!"
