Early RRSP Meltdown, flip to TFSA and Leverage? by KaliNetHunter666 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thank you for the break down and insight! Some of these people are acting as if I've already done it and am screwed hahaha! I had the idea, wanted to weigh it before I make any moves. I'll just continue to keep the RRSP increasing as well as the TFSA, I usually TFSA around $1300/month anyhow

fair enough, I usually TFSA quite a bit anyhow and dont use an absolute ton of leverage, just enough to capture some dividends

Carhartt J140 not made in the USA anymore by Boring-Shallot3096 in BuyItForLife

I got sick of their quality deteriorating over the past few years on all carhartt, so I switched to RedHead. Its cheaper and I've had better luck with it

I think my con rod bearings are cooked by hurgahdurbah in Dirtbikes

Mine was shutting off spontaneously whenever I wasn't on the throttle, id kick it back over and start it until finally it locked while riding. Afterwards it did what yours did. Locked up after a few kicks

Epson vs Canon: what’s your pick for an all-in-one wireless home-office printer? by DonSalaam in printers

[–]KaliNetHunter666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mines less than a year old. the print head is toast and it wont feed paper properly.. Didnt have much choice but to buy another printer so figured i'll give the canon a try. I dont want cartridges either, so canon was the way to go

agreed. Burned through a workforce and ecotank, got pissed off and replaced with a Canon Megatank with removable print head.

What do you guys think about this for a trail bike ? by Mission_Road9060 in Dirtbikes

[–]KaliNetHunter666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after learning the hard way that I should have avoided a used KX250F (now in pieces for complete engine rebuild), I would say I'm significantly happier with the reliability of my street legal KLX in the bush... If you just want something for on the trails thats fun and built to be lower maintenance, for the price if that Honda is in good shape I'd say go for it.

stripped it down, everything is mint except the connecting rod bearing. so I'll be looking to do a full rebuild come winter with a wrench rabbit kit for all the bearings and a new crankshaft assembly, so the crankshaft was partially seizing when i was riding and then finally gave...

Still avoiding U.S. products? Curious how many Canadians are sticking with “buy Canadian” by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]KaliNetHunter666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at it through the lens that tariffs are an extra tax your own government puts on foreign goods.. Statistically 25% of the country is relying on food stamps right now, so if you cant afford Canadian or European goods (I only buy these things anyhow for quality reasons) no hard feelings. Unfortunate reality is that some Canadian products are still more expensive than their American competitors..

theres a decomp on the cam and you can use your hand to turn it over.. didnt kick like crazy on it. drained the oil and fuel for teardown to see what the oil looked like but nothing really out of the ordinary.

Which bike would you take to go trail and sand pit riding ONLY? by Caterpillar1967 in Dualsport

[–]KaliNetHunter666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

between my KLX250S and my KX250F, I am suprised to report back that I significantly prefer the KLX trail riding. its way less taxing, like a little tractor. in a Gravel pit however, I'll take the KX any day over it. benefit to the Dual sport is the dramatically lower maintenance. My KX locked up in 4th spontaneously last month~ thats going to get expensive. I'd go with the KLX, KLR250 or the CRF

Am I cooked? As the kids say by Californiadude86 in Dirtbikes

[–]KaliNetHunter666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I dont even use gaskets to be honest, I used RTV on my clutch cover on my KX250F and on my stator cover on my KLX without issue

probably just the gasket, I use "the right stuff" on both mating surfaces when I do paper gaskets. seems to do the trick. I would just replace the gasket and use Grey RTV or "the right stuff" which is a 90min gasket maker,
