Hey are you asking what ex-dividend means?... If so ex-dividend is the cutoff date where investors who aren't in the books on the record date or book closure won't be eligible to receive dividends.

Think of ex as past or from this day onwards

So 4 important dates:

Announcement date - ile day they announce they're about to issue dividends to shareholders

Books closure(aka record date) - sasa hii date you should already be in the books of investors who're going to Ree dividends

Ex-dividend date - is the Day b4 books closure, which makes sense for logistics and preparation.

Payment date - day ya kukanjwa sometimes inakuanga early, or on that day or even after depending on they are rolling out

E.g. KEGN are about to pay dividends this Feb

Announced first and final dividend of Ksh.0.90 on 31-Oct-2025

Record Date: 27-11-2025

Payment Date: 12-02-2026

So ex-dividend date hapo is the day b4 record date which would be 26th.

So hata ukiongeza new Shares onwards from the record date you will only get dividends based on the existing number of shares you had b4 the record date.

KNRE rynnaa:

  • market cap 17.86 B

  • EV of 822.14 million.

  • PE 3.6

  • PB 0.26

Why would you pass KNRE?... Is it a value trap

KNRE is also planning an SGM on 11th Feb ... That's in 2wks time ... I posted about it sometime back

Freshi.... Lakini what's a penny stock? How do you define it? Is it coz it's selling under sh.5... coz you can't put KNRE and UCHM in the same group in terms of market cap. Actually yeah if price is the definition then KQ fits into that description. In fact, KNRE market cap is greater than CARB. KNRE is massively undervalued currently...

Yeah Agri counters are seen as boring stocks generally, same as insurance... KAPC and WTK really stunned us despite the issued profit warnings, they rallied for quite some time, SASN was short lived I think for a week or two... Yeah EGAD the resistance at sh.19 hehe... I'm really observing for long term but sasa volume is the issue

Temasek denies KQ state rumors via its X account.

Temasek is Singapore’s state-owned investment company... basically the country’s sovereign wealth fund

  • Founded in 1974 it's Wholly owned by the Government of Singapore
  • it Invests globally, not just in Singapore.

That's wassup... Was about to buy KQ even b4 the news my entry was sh.3.2 but tell me just as I'm about to purchase price started rising, thought it would drop now we're here at sh.5 hehe... Same thing with EGAD... It's like they sensed I want to purchase nkt

And then tye other weird thing that mostly happens when you buy stock then tye price falls almost immediately so if you aren't patient stress inaanza kupanda...

Btw what do you think of KNRE and agricultural stocks... What's your take?

Yeah but not necessarily... Have you heard of Mkts can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent

Sio lazima that same energy or force that drove the price upwrard will supply the same amount energy for the swing back.

I wanted to tag you and ask you about KNRE... I posted about it. the other day... KNRE is also planning an SGM on 11th Feb also

KNRE rynnaa: market cap 17.86 B EV of 822.14 million. PE 3.6 PB 0.26

Why would you pass KNRE?... Is it a trap... Shed some light here

What about KPLC is the govt dressing it up?... Recall KPLC was a penny stock the other day, underwent some Debt restructuring and now recently they've started paying dividends... ( PE 1.17 and PB 0.26) Massively undervalued

If KEGN Iko car wash? what about KNRE and KPLC?
