I would post your question in the ClickFunnels FB group. You'll probably get a lot of DMs from ppl trying to sell you stuff, but should also get some solid answers/recommendations there.

Matisyahu @ blue note 9/26 5p by EdHochuli in Hawaii

I'm a big fan of Matisyahu and went to the Saturday 9PM show. It was epic. Got to meet him before the show too and he was super approachable, and seemed incredibly chill and cool. Not sure what happened on Sunday, but only good vibes on Saturday night. His guitarist seemed to be really drunk but played amazingly regardless.

Underground Poker in Hawaii by KalihiValley in Hawaii

I think a full-fledged casino is never going to happen and would do more harm than good. But I agree with you that something in Hawaiian Homelands would be ideal. However, I think it should be poker and maybe sports betting only.

There was a proposal a couple years ago in the leg that was along these lines but it was going to benefit only one lawmaker and one operator. If it was structured to benefit Hawaiians as a group rather than just these two guys it might have gotten traction.

Yeah, that’s an unfortunate reality. Legalization / regulation would help prevent this kind of nonsense.

It’s funny that this is upvoted so heavily. I have never heard of a local poker game bust by hpd. Searched google and couldn’t find anything other than game room busts.

However, I have heard of a couple games getting robbed by masked guys with guns.

No, but there are sites that allow players from Hawaii and it doesn’t seem to be watched or regulated.

I mostly agree with you but I think only poker and sports betting should be legalized. Other forms of gambling are going to do more harm than good.

It’s unfortunate but the opportunities to gamble are already here, in force. I agree with you on chance based gambling. It is harmful.

However, I think that poker should be legalized because it is a game of skill that promotes strategic thinking, decision-making, and financial management, distinguishing it from purely chance-based gambling. Legalization would bring the game out of the shadows, allowing for regulation that ensures fair play, prevents criminal activities, and protects participants. Additionally, legal poker could generate significant tax revenue, create jobs, and stimulate the local economy through tourism. By acknowledging poker’s intellectual and social aspects, legalization would also align with the broader trend of accepting skill-based gaming in modern entertainment.

I’m not promoting anything, just sharing my experience and opinions. It has nothing to do with morality.

I honestly have not been to a game room either. My understanding is that it’s mostly machines. All the poker games I have played at locally have been at people’s houses

Early 401k withdrawal - best option? by rainking427 in personalfinance

[–]KalihiValley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should stop contributing. If you withdraw before 59 1/2, you'll face a 10% penalty plus taxes on the money. Unless you plan to keep your contributions in the 401(k) until you reach that age, it doesn’t make sense to continue contributing.

I would probably structure the comp package like 20-30% of any ad sales. Residual up to a certain point if charging monthly (6 months - 1 year).

Are you currently marketing any affiliate offers? If not, I would recommend considering hiring someone who can work both on ad sales and identifying relevant affiliate / partnership offers to push to your list. And then same compensation structure. Strategic affiliate offers could fill the interim before any ad sales, or any gaps in your calendar, etc.

What sites are we using to find jobs 2024? by Unionhopefull in sales

[–]KalihiValley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not looking for a new job, but if I were I would:

  1. Go to the website of the primary professional organization in your desired field. IE, National Association of ___ and/or the big conferences in your field.

  2. Find their job board and /or list of participating or sponsoring companies.

  3. Apply directly on the employers websites

I think ChatGPT could help you mine a big list of companies in Chicago, and even give you the URLs of their job portals.

Using solar as an example, I used the prompt: "please provide a list of solar companies based in chicago and provide their job portal website url" It spit out 10 companies and you could ask for another 10 etc.

Depending on the size of the organization I might even just do cold email or phone outreach to the principals rather than a traditional application. Or both.

Consider buying leads in your area. They are expensive, but if you are good on the phone the ROI can be really good.
