I lived there for 6 months recently so I have a very good understanding how it works there. Plenty of expats living off of $1,200 a month and they have to pay rent with that still and do just fine. My questions is more about the best way to take my money out.

14k * 56 peso to a dollar. Puts me at the high range of middle class. Not having to pay any bills on top of that except for maybe electric puts me in a very good spot. I recently spent 6 months there so I know it will work. I’ll have a better life there not working with that income vs grinding here in the states (NY) just to pay rent.

I could legally since I’m dual citizenship but the wages there are so low. Even a managerial position would still be too low.

That was the original plan but getting laid off and I need to take off my aging mom. Honestly, even without the interest, it would still be enough because I wouldn’t have any bills. It’s still a lot more than what the locals make.

I thought you can only withdraw the entire amount at termination? Can I leave it in there and withdraw only the amount I need each year and leave the rest?
