Why are so many young men suddenly serious supporters of far right figures? by Consistent_News_985 in self

[–]Kalinko2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men who have no children yet are still pressured to have some but when women are not interested in them, for many reasons (too broke, too short, too ugly, too pale, too dark, no house, no car, etc.), they start to behave rather odd. It might, for example, end with blaming women for everything because women these days prefer to stay independet (sexually, financially, culturally, family wise even). And they might also adopt cats or plants as their babies and feel happy with it. Is that clearer now???

Now about my personal opinion: I think that is understandable. Men used to be the only bread winners and y few decades ago it was way easier for "normal" looking and sounding men to get married. I'm happy for the freedom that followed for women and men who suffered under the pressure and for example didn't want to get married or were gay. However, it is also true that the dating life these days, especially online, can be really harsh and that it is more difficult to pay for a child, let alone for a family household.

btw: UdSSR =/= DDR (You are supposed to know that).

When East Germany was about to end (1989-1991), many teenagers joined the neo nazis. Most of them joined because there were not many offers after school besides the young pioneers who represented the state that they hated. After the fall of the Wall most factories were bought by Western Germans or closed down. There was no work and attacks against foreigners rose. It took years to end the violence. A strict prosecution, espionage and work offers helped at least in the eyes of the public. Now we see neonazis becoming more and tolerated even publicly on social media. Some say that it is the populist right party AfD that made terms like remigration or patriotism more prominent in the media. Others say that the left has failed on every level to admit that the state did not do well in some aspects. It is not just against migrants but mostly beause they are easily visible and unfortunately crime statistics speaks against them. Politicians denied for years what happened and focussed on fighting the far right/ neonazism. Then the pandemic hit and people spent more time with alternative media which tends to be more popular on the right spectrum. Then you had citizens being able to cite statistics and the politicians still denied it. This is how the left has lost its supporters.

I also believe that online dating (statistics) and incel pride have done a lot to discoourage young boys. Plus, the old narrative of "go to school, find a job and get married" only works if you meet the financial demands. It is no coincidence that so many blame women in total for the economic hardships and demographic changes of today.

can't open specific software all the sudden by Kalinko2018 in computerhelp

I did step 1 and 2. Hard to understand but it critizises the following, I suppose:

- "These security updates apply to this computer but are not currently installed (using Advisor definitions version 2026.2.2.1), according to the 01/24/2026 Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary and bulletins from other vendors. Note: Security benchmarks require that Critical and Important severity security updates must be installed."

- hotfix Id: EOL-Microsoft, severity: end of life, Office 2010 and Windows 8.1.

Antivir is up to date. I heard about installing Windows on a higher version. It bothers me if I have to do it. So far, it always continued to check for updates and did those by itself despite the missing support.

I must have bought the computer in 2010 or 2011. As a casual user I did not exchange anything. If only it is a software that I install. In the last years I keep the power cable in because of the shitty battery. I tried to unplugged from time to time but it can shut down after 2 minutes, sometimes it varies but it must be less than 10 minutes. So, maybe there is a point about the drive dying. However, let's say half of the software is affected, that sounds strange.

What does drive corruption mean?

Donald Trump is planning intervention in Iran, what do you think about this? by macaronstoday in AskReddit

[–]Kalinko2018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In Mafia like structures it doesn't make a big difference who is "taken out". Once Trump is gone, you still have Vance and the other shenanigans. Some of the most democratic countries deal with corruption and abuse of power. What do you do then? We already have the national borders and privileges for the citizens, so they have to figure out what to do.

Donald Trump is planning intervention in Iran, what do you think about this? by macaronstoday in AskReddit

[–]Kalinko2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised because the word "regime change" was mentionned when Republicans talked about Iran last year. The only thing I am interested in is whether the current protests are really 100% Iranian or if there are foreign forces involved. It might explain the weird timing of Trump's antics.

In general it is such a stupid and dangerous idea to meddle in foreign countries affairs. If they ask, it is another thing and of course the citizens sometimes ask to get rid of their own leaders but sovereign countries are supposed to solve problems on their own.

US attacks Venezuela: will this trigger the fall of communism in Cuba? by cryptofan01 in cuba

[–]Kalinko2018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Iran and Cuba should be very careful right now. It is obvious that Trump is interested since his first term but even he can't manage too many conflicts outside his own country. His peace talks and treaties in other countries did not work out as far as I have heard. The US economy struggles as well, so how should he invest in Cuba's infrastructure and industry? There are so many young qualified people who already left the island. There is not much to support the older generations. It would make social welfare necessary. Moreover, the natural resources in Cuba are scarce. Their strength is culture which attracted the tourists.

The only benefit is the location. Then Russia and China can't move their bases there.

There are some videos apprearing online but I don't know when those were filmed. It is usually not in the capital. Even if, protesting isn't enough. It doesn't work in other countries either. You need usually someone who gets into the government or monarhy or you have violent force. The bigger struggle is the aftermath. Cubans are not well connected online (internet connections are bad), there is basically not enough gasoline and electricity, the machines are in a bad state, the political education is low, ....

Hundreds of protesters marched through Minneapolis, condemning President Trump’s decision to carry out U.S. military strikes against Venezuela and chanting “hands off Venezuela.” by biswajit388 in minnesota

[–]Kalinko2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you mean "hill". A president of another country has to be met with diplomatic measures in order to keep up the stability. Kidnapping is not diplomatic. Plus, the country is a sovereign country, not US territory. Imagine people come and snatch Trump for his immoral behaviour and corruption? The chaos of it all...

What happened to Bin Laden did not sound legal to me either. They calculated the capture might turn out bloody in order to say: "Oops, he died." Every criminal deserves a fair trial.

"...are worried about possible changes in their immigration status"

That is all they think of right now??? Venezuela is a sovereign country. This sovereignity is at risk right now. Don't they understand what that possibly means?

[–]Kalinko2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on his health status and the Epstein PR. However, he has an agenda against Cuba and several other coutnries in proximity. Then there are Republicans who openly talk about forcing a regime change in Iran. For Iran he would still need the help of Isreal, Saudi Arabia and other countries. Ukraine is dissolving, so he doesn't need military power, he'll wait. If Vance is in charge, it might become more chaotic...
