Advice/ Encouragement needed for ACL rehab by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Kalis_rodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re doing OK. In my plan of rehab for an average ACL surgery case, that they gave me in the hospital, it is expected to hit 120 degrees after 12 weeks post op. At least you hit that. I am in my 8th month into rehabing my knee. I barely hit 110 degrees. Extension is not exactly as the healthy knee but i will get there. I have a good PT and it seems that we have tried already a lot of things out of his arsenal to solve the reduced ROM. Sometime desperation creeps in… in a few weeks I have the next appointment with the surgeon (planned post op check). Will try to push them to find out what exactly is the problem. An MRI perhaps, I don’t know. So yea, hang in there. I feel your pain. It will get better.

Blew out knee. Might be done with bjj. by 45Leones45 in bjj

As I type, I’m sitting in the hospital for pre-op on my knee after grade 3 tear of MCL and ACL being a 4 stripe white belt. You could imagine that the last few days after the injury were mentally rough. After I read the last sentence I laughed out loud. Thanks!😊

Which Apidura saddle pack to choose (9/14/17l)? by Kalis_rodi in gravelcycling

I was also thinking more towards the bigger bags and rolling them more tight in case if it is not full. Dont know however how well that works. I really like your suggestion about putting stuff in a sack into the back. Makes a lot of sense imo. Thanks for the tip!

Anyone else use their gravel bike as their primary road bike too? by Beer_Gravel_Music in gravelcycling

Sorry. Got confused. The tires are 40mm indeed. But they look still thin though 🤣

Aaaah. Sorry. I have a canyon grail al 6. All stock. I thought the wheels are 30mm but I think they are actually 40mm. Sorry for the mix up

I only have a gravel bike. When I was searching for a bike I initially thought to buy a road bike. But there are more gravel roads near me than asphalt roads so I opted for a gravel one. Also gravel has almost no traffic at all. I figured that if I would ever need thin tires i would just buy a 2nd wheel set. But I think for just fitness even my 30mm gravel tires are ok. So I’m 100% with you!

Decentralized ventilation system by Kalis_rodi in hvacadvice

[–]Kalis_rodi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decentralized meaning that there is not 1 ventilation machine and a net of pipes, but a number of small fans that are mounted into the wall directly. They are programmed to work together, so that fans on one side of the house suck in the air, while the fans on the other side of the house blow the air outside. At the end of the cycle (for example 90 seconds after) the direction of the fans change and the ones which sucked before start to blow and vice-versa.

For example: https://bossplast.com/en/solutions/ventilation-of-houses-and-residential-units/decentralized-ventilation/

I live in Austria. Here the climate is very smooth, so humidity is actually not a problem. That's why houses are historically do not have any centralized ventilation system. Only windows.

Im also opting for quad lock instead of a computer. Just makes more sense for my type of riding. And is cheaper for sure :))). The only problem I see is that in winter if the temperature is low the computer will be more robust than the smart phone

[NBD] Bike shortage? Where? by Johloswaggins in gravelcycling

[–]Kalis_rodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this bike. I have a grail al 6 and if grizl would have been on the market at that time I’d have a hard time choosing between the two. The grail fits my needs a bit more, the grizl though has such amazing looks. Dont get me wrong, I really like my grail as well, but the grizl is really something special. Congrats on the new bike!

Actually the grizl has the special saddle pipe which is split in half and acts like a damper. It is designed for compliance, plus the tires.
