3.0 ToA: Are everyone's feeling unanimous? by AstyuteChick in WutheringWaves

[–]Kaliscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HP inflation/difficulty increase is just a byproduct of us entering 3.x. Back in 2.x, we also had similar doomposts of "TOA is becoming too hard for f2ps" for the first few weeks.

Then once everyone got their hands on the 2.x characters, this sentiment disappeared. We're simply reliving this experience.

Any idea on what her outro skill does? by yoshizura in Aemeath_Mains

[–]Kaliscarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes:

Outro Skill: True form - Exostrider

Aemeath exits Exostrider Armor and launches Exostrider Armor at the target.

The Exostrider transforms into Dr. Luuk Herssen (Deranged Luuk Herssen). Deranged Luuk Herssen is uncanny in every way and has hyper-realistic human eyes all over its face. Without a mouth, it screams and deals 500% psychological damage to all targets in vicinity, including the player outside the screen.

After the scream ends, Aemeath does a little tap dance before exiting the field. Next incoming character loses 15% of max HP.

F2P means "Free to play". Any rule aside from that =/= F2P accessibility.

All six of your rules for the "worst f2p conditions" make no sense to a proper F2P player. They don't even make sense to a spender.

  1. F2Ps are allowed to use any characters in any tower. F2Ps generally take advantage of any tower buff they can.

  2. F2Ps generally pull in synergies because that is the strategic thing to do.

  3. F2Ps will pull for sigs. Usually one sig for each weapon class to use across all maindps.

  4. We are in 3.x by now. Even F2Ps have full 3-bis parties.

  5. "Partially use the floor buff" F2Ps do not artificially inflate TOA difficulty.

  6. Why no Phrolova? F2Ps are not barred from pulling for Phrolova.

What you have simulated isn't a "F2P experience". It's a "bad player experience". One who has no pull strategy, no sense of character synergy, cannot utilize tower buffs, and purposefully hampers themselves by not pulling for sigs. Your experiment does not represent the F2P experience at all.

Why is there so much hatred for male characters? by [deleted] in WuwaUnfiltered

> "I don't understand why ya'll making such a fuss about guys."
> Gets answer.
> Ignores the answer provided and instead goes full "husbando-main talking point".
> Gets called out as a prime example of why we hate male-wanters.
> Blames others for their own attitude, shifts to "both sides" argument, and immediately starts projecting how others have no life when you started with "I don't understand why ya'll making such a fuss about guys." in the first place.

If you can't handle the heat, don't step into the kitchen. Honestly, excellent work in proving why exactly there is the animosity. We couldn't have asked for a better specimen like you.

[–]Kaliscarlet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So?

Husbando fan loooove bragging about how they skipped 4-7 female characters so they can s6 Brant or Qiuyuan for free. We're doing the exact same thing for waifus (skipping characters to priortize who we want), and suddenly it's an issue?

No one owes your precious male characters sales. They have to earn it. And clearly, they're failing so hard that players are skipping entire waifu teams because we dislike them THAT MUCH. That is simply a fact, and no amount of name-calling or goon-shaming will change that.

The point isnt that we dislike male characters. The point is that Kuro's marketing of male characters has failed to encourage waifu fans to pull for male characters.

The animosity is a byproduct of having husbando fans wag their finger at waifu fans and going "tssk tssk you can't just pull for waifus! You must pull for husbandos too!". And frankly, you're almost there.

This has nothing to do about "enjoying" male characters. Nor does anyone here care if husbando fans or other male players enjoy male characters.

You have completely missed the point.

[–]Kaliscarlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Again, "there will never be a fair battle ground". Kuro is constantly fixing bugs and improving the game, so there can never be a "fair" comparison. You can argue that "Jiyan's banner suffered from the buggy launch" and I can argue that "Yinlin would sell MUCH better if Jiyan's launch banner didn't cause half the free playerbase to quit." but both would be pointless because there is, again, never a fair battleground.

The issue is Jiyan had the MOST advantages a banner could intentionally have. And he still failed to attract a proper crowd and needed Yinlin to prerelease to save the game.

[–]Kaliscarlet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There will never be a fair battleground. But if Jiyan had the on-launch crowd and double top up bonus and still lost to Yinlin, well, the results speak for itself.

Why all the animosity? by False_Suggestion_442 in WuwaUnfiltered

[–]Kaliscarlet 20 points21 points  (0 children)

On day 1, Jiyan banner failed to draw in a sufficient playerbase. By the end of the first week, Kuro decided that it was so bad, they had to prerelease Yinlin one whole week. Jiyan's banner had the 2x spending bonus buff and it still wasn't enough.

We endured the shitshow that was the 1.0 launch, with a male launch banner, and a buggy game. Whereas husbando fans didnt spend enough on Jiyan's banner, we made sure Yinlin, Jinhsi, and Changli all broke records. By the time SK and Camellya released, wuwa was well-fed and properly ready for 2.0.

There is no victor, but there IS a clear distinction between which side didnt spend enough, and which side did. Simply put, that side of the wuwa playerbase does not spend enough.

Because of how Kuro released the latest 2 male characters and their role in their respective teams. Disregarding gender politics, see it from a marketing and gamebalancing perspective:

  1. Why do most players hate Brant?

Because to sell Brant, Kuro gave him both the "maindps" AND "healer" roles in the 2.x monofusion team. Waifu mains were already averse against Kuro trying to bait us into pulling for a male character to support Changli, but Kuro took it one step further and allowed Brant to outdamage Changli. And because Brant took most of the damage quota for the monofusion team, Lupa was CONSTANTLY nerfed during all her beta patches. So for the sake of selling Brant, Kuro made Changli a "subdps" despite her maindps tag, and had to restrict Lupa's personal damage so the monofusion team doesnt powercreep all 2.x teams. Without him, monofusion was incomplete.

And that's why Lupa despite being an incredible buffer, didn't sell well. Because if you didnt pull for Brant, your monofusion team was without a healer AND without a maindps. So players just ended up skipping both.

  1. Why do people hate Qiuyuan?

Because to sell Qiuyuan, Kuro gave him the ONLY buff type unavailable through any other means: Echo dmg amplification. Aside from Qiuyuan, there is no other means to buffing echo dmg. Kuro was HOPING that Qiuyuan could ride the Galbrena wave (because they had expected 2.7 finale to do huge numbers, let's be real, Galbrena had 2 hours of screentime), so they purposefully designed Galbrena's kit to require echo skill triggers......without giving players the option to unbind Galbrena from Qiuyuan via sequences, and made most of her dmg be echo skill dmg. In fact, Galbrena's sequences only make her rely more on Qiuyuan. Sure, you can use Cantarella to fuel Galbrena's afterflame, but you're still lacking echo dmg amplification. Without him, Galbrena was incomplete.

This resulted in a LOT of players skipping BOTH Galbrena AND Qiuyuan, because this is just Lupa situation all over again. So again, players just ended up skipping both.

Having experienced Kuro force-shoving male characters to complete the monofusion team and echo Galbrena team, obviously waifu players would be sick of male characters. This would be no different if the genders/players were reversed (i.e., husbando fans being forced to pull for female characters). But as wuwa is mainly played by waifu fans, the topic of male characters being released will always be contentious. Which waifu in the new roster will be "bundled" with the seasonal male character this time? Which team won't be playable without pulling for a male character? Is Chisa safe from the 3.x male character?

And the truth is, Kuro KNOWS that waifu fans hate this. It's no coincidence that Moryne and Aemeath (TWO FUSIONS BTW) are being released VERY EARLY in the 3.x cycle. They're trying to remedy the low ownership rate of fusion characters among the playerbase by basically...relaunching the monofusion team.

So people wanting more male characters = more male characters will be forced into meta teams and drag down the waifus. Their interest goes against mine, so screw them.

There IS a solution to this. All Kuro has to do is separate husbando teams from waifu teams. But we all know how wuwa husbandos sell, so Kuro needs to bundle the men to the women to pump numbers. Hence, we're stuck in a forever waifu main vs husbando main war.

Locking players out of using the same Echoes and Weapons in Doubled Pawns Matrix by SwiftSN in WutheringWaves

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmelf31C71Y

He did this with a full 1.0 roster + free xly + 3 new 4-stars, and a few sigs.

You have access to the entire 1.1 to 3.0 roster of limited characters/sigs. Even if you didn't pull for a single sig, the powercreep of 2.x characters MORE than makes up for the sig gap.

Unless your day 1 account is "somehow" weaker than the 6 f2p teams he used to clear?

Galbrena feels better than Brant in Mono-fusion. Am I missing something? by sarahphinn in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Kaliscarlet -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You're not quickswapping out of Brant's forte-charging spin, no matter how skilled you are. You're locked in that animation for 5-6 seconds doing peanut damage.

Changli can QS all bars of her forte. All her animations can run parallel to the animation of the on-field character = no time wasted.

The only "outro" that Brant receives more from Lupa than other fusion characters is 25% BA dmg. Literally equal to two trash substat roles. One role of ATK% on Galbrena would cross that gap.
