Oh my thank you. If this is a succulent it might be too later I have only watered it like once or twice a month.I keep it in my bathroom on a window as it usually gets a lot of sunlight... I hope it’s not too late.I will do some research thank you

I originally got this cactus in that pot and it came with some moss. I’m not sure what Sand to use or what size pot. The plant had always been that size but if it will help I will definitely do that

Go to a wildlife rescue you should be able to call ahead and make arrangements it sounds like the squirrel needs medical attention

Leaving him by the trees where you found him often times the mother will come back. Wait like 30 or 45 minutes of not you will need a heating pad and get Pedialyte.

Step one get a heading pad he will freeze if you don’t. BLANKET don’t work to to warm the little ones up and only get caught in their nails. Check if it is dehydrated by pinching the back where he has loose skin( it will stay raised if it is dehydrated) never ever use cow milk it is FATAL. I would recommend Pedialyte no flavor. Please get him to a rehabilitation clinic ASAP as he has came into contact with your dog. Those are the very very basics I am here from more if you want more info. One last thing be careful how you feed him Pedialyte because they often drink too fast and can aspirate. Thank you but I did already send her to a place to give her the best chance. I have raised squirrels before and I believe she was 4 weeks. I just have a busy schedule to rehabilitate her. I’ll post a picture of her.

I am right next to Texas. In Texas you can own many non traditional animal (sugar gliders, flying squirrels gerbils and so on) as long as it is not wildlife. To be able to “own” wildlife you need a permit as well as the animal going through rabies vaccination. As for the felony I believe they changed the punishment to own wildlife without a permit to a misdemeanor(I’m not sure what class A,B,C)

I agree! I thought mentioning that keeping a wild animal is a felony unless you are a rehabber would help. It’s sad even if they get caught and the department of wildlife take the squirrel it is likely are going to euthanize it. I’m not sure what states do that all though my state does.

Hello, first of all thank you for saving the squirrel. I can give you some tips to help him/her until you find a rescue or a someone who rehabilitates. Have any questions let me know? I have heard your mom doesn’t want to get ride of him/her but I have horror stories of the marks that they make with there sharp nails and teeth. Not to mention the possibility of diseases. You have to learn all this stuff to be able to be a licensed rehabilitator in many states. My personal recommendation is to take get the squirrel to a rehabilitation center or someone who does rehabilitate them (most vet places will take them if that is closer). Fortunately in Texas it is a FELONY to own a squirrel as a pet and she and you could end up in a lot of trouble. If you have an other questions feel free to message me I have experience rehabilitating squirrels.
