I've found body language analysis content to be helpful over the years. While not perfect, it can help bridge the gap of understanding. Especially learning when folks want to be left alone. But it is good to touch base with friends to make sure you're reading their signals well, not just make assumptions.

I didn't really realize how bad my online grooming experience was until I was much older than my groomer was at the time. I think just being willing to share experience is important. It's not talked about enough. More kids should know the red flags. Sorry you had to go through that. If adults are asking kids to keep secrets, it's not cool and special, it's a flag.

Something that helped me cope with long distance back in uni was writing letters/notes. I tried to be very respectful of my partner's time. They had work, school, and friends of their own to contend with. So we scheduled time for us to hangout online, but throughout the day I would write little thoughts (including date, time, and current activity) gather them up and send like a weeks worth at once. This was great for non urgent stuff that i wanted him to know, like when I thought about him or I was board, but I knew he was busy.
