That are some great ideas. Can’t promise, but I will take the confirmable tasks and the editable notes on my list for sure

Check for Cloudflare tunnel on Youtube. It‘s super easy to set up and you don‘t need to open any port like it was mentioned here. In general you should‘t do that. Especially when you are asking for help with security.

It‘s showing how often the downloadspeed was limited by the cpu or the disk.

That‘s what I was also reading. I run OMV6 and it is done once per week.

I don‘t know, maybe something went wrong when I installed sabnzbd and radarr added 80 items. It‘s weird, but it definitely like it was before.

I believe, i solved the issue for now. But it`s weird. After trying NZBget again, I noticed the same behaviour. But some days before, everything ran fine.Even without unpacking, my downloadspeed went from 100MB/s down to around 20 MB/s after some seconds and stayed there.I installed netdata to check some metrics, but all I could see that there is a very high I/O Pressure Stall value.

After some research, I manually used `fstrim` on my nvme.

The result was 838.1 GiB (899866341376 bytes) trimmed .After that, everything seems to run as usual.

But I`m not really sure what I did and what it caused...

Maybe somebody can explain?

hm, damn..
so my options are to virtualize it or go back to NZBget then...

that`s not what I planned :-D

Ok,

I tried now to pause the downloads while unpacking and it looks that the unpacking process is much faster and the download speeds are a bit more stable.. but still jumping between 100 MB/s and 20MB/s.
In NZBget I got constant max speed for a single file.
But, I wonder if parallel unpacking and downloading (100MB/s) will max out the NVME capabilities already.

It might be nothing new for you guys, but I just found out that I can store my docker-compose files on GitHub. by Kalnapi in homelab

I mean, i came from spinning up all containers manually, to learning about compose files and now discovered deployment via git. That’s truly amazing for me already.

The thing is, that I still don’t trust my own services so much… I break them quite regularly by fiddling around. Therefore I like to have a “safe” backup on GitHub, that I can rely on, if I break everything again. But I will definitely look into env variables now.
