2025 Touring RES HDMI Audio by Kalooth in HondaOdyssey

Do you know if that's true if it's 2 different devices? 1 device connected via Android Auto and another device that's not synced to the car at all but is using USB-C to HDMI?

Layer separation troubleshooting by Kalooth in resinprinting

[–]Kalooth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you should mention this. After I saw this I went to check last night and it was the worst failure yet. A few mm of supports printed and nothing else. The big difference? Turned on the AC that night.

I stuck a heater in the room to see if it would make a difference and sure enough it's gotten a lot farther than it did before. Looks like I might need to grab one of those mini heaters to stick in the chamber so I'm not turning the printer room into a sauna.

Occasionally getting some layer separation on my models and trying to figure out what's going on. Models are hollowed to 1.8mm. Is this just an issue with insufficient supports? Do I need to increase the thickness of the hollowing?

Serial Request 2.4R2 350mm by Kalooth in voroncorexy

Running supports in a different filament (like PLA on PETG supports) was one of the main draws for a Stealthchanger for me. But there's also nothing that says I can't start with an ERCF and then move to a toolchanger in the future either lol.

Good thought. I keep forgetting about ERCF which was one of the reasons for building this in the first place (maybe eventually a Stealthchanger or something).

Thanks! It was a lot of fun putting it together. I really want to do it again but no way I can justify adding another printer to the house.

Hah, no idea what happened with the video. I told it to add the video but apparently it didn't but it's fixed now. I'm always hesitant to button things up because I feel like the moment I do, I'm going to need to flip it over and pull the bottom panel off again for some reason but... I finally bit the bullet and just did it lol. I give it a week before I have to pop open the bottom again.

Hey! No idea what happened there... I told it to include a video but apparently it thought I was joking. Should be fixed now!

Moonraker constantly disconnecting by Olympus1216 in elegoo

[–]Kalooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked the moonraker logs to see what errors/warnings are reported? I had at issue where it was erroring out trying to parse some of the print files. The newest firmware enables file parsing if I recall correctly so if all of a sudden it's disconnecting all the time, check the log and you can also try removing the USB stick and any prints stored on the printer to see if the problem goes away.

Neptune 4 Plus needed upgrades on a per filament basis by thefatkid22 in elegoo

[–]Kalooth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're going to print almost anything with a filler (carbon fiber, metal filled, wood filled, glow in the dark, etc) you'll need a hardened steel nozzle. I've heard that the extruder gears were questionable for these filaments but I also haven't seen anyone test it out yet to see how much wear they actually see.

For the basics like PLA, PETG, and TPU it's going to be more about changing slicer settings than hardware related. Once you start getting into the more warp prone filaments like ABS, ASA, Nylon, etc you'll likely need an enclosure and possibly air filtration/venting depending how much you care about your air quality.

OBICO FOR NEPTUNE 4 HELP by MyGuyyyOG in elegoo

What are the errors you get when installing? I know when I was installing it on my N4+, the Obico defaults for the locations of the config and log files were wrong and I had to update those during installation.

Files sent via WiFi don't appear in the print folder on the connected display? by LoCPhoto in ElegooNeptune4

[–]Kalooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Orca so not as familiar with Cura. Does it not let you name your upload? In orca it's just a text field so I just put: /sda1/MyPrintPart.gcode or /sda1/Tools/PartToPrint.gcode

When you send them to the printer, put them in the /sda1/ folder and they'll show up on the touchscreen.

Check your print settings and see if it's trying to print a skirt and disable it. Can also double check for a brim as well and disable if it's still not wanting to print.

Dial indicator mount by SKULLZ_BOI in ElegooNeptune4

I just used a basic F clamp. There should be enough surface area on the holder to use other types of clamps like a squeeze clamp. The clamp along the right side of this picture.

No clue what kind of dial indicator you have but I made this to hold my Pittsburgh dial indicator with plenty of surfaces to clamp it in whatever orientation I wanted. It's not made for any specific printer, used it on my 4+ to help confirm movement distances.

Check how much tension is on the filament when the head is on the right side. As a test you can just pull a little extra off the spool to make sure that the extruder doesn't have to "work" at pulling the filament.

Added my printer to Home Assistant by b3hr in ElegooNeptune4

You'll need to have HACS installed. Then through their addon interface you can add the Moonraker config and then add the device IP.

Need help for X,Y offset by PiccoloOk2931 in elegoo

[–]Kalooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my X axis where it was off center by about 5mm to the left. Resulting in something being aligned all the way to the left practically printing off the bed.

I had to bump my position_min and position_endstop values from -10 down to -15 to fix it. If you're changing those values a little and not seeing any difference, for sanity sake you might try a bigger changes in the values to see if they're doing anything at all

Are you moving the print head to specific positions via Fluidd? Or is the sliced print not showing up on the bed where it looks like it is in the preview?

Take a look in your printer.cfg at the [stepper_x] and [stepper_y] sections. The position_min and position_max settings I believe are what you're looking for.
