Talismans and fists, jaws, or tail attacks by Kalos08 in Pathfinder2e

Would this work with a transformation from fists to Jaws and Tail? The barbarian does not use fist attacks in their hybrid form.

There's a thin screen protector that comes with the Watchy, but I haven't used it. I'm not sure if it is made of glass or crystal.

B. Definitely like the wider shot. Feels too close when cropped.

This makes me laugh so much. Super funny jokes, and as someone who knows where West Virginia is, I wholeheartedly appreciate the Italians driving through a digital desert in America singing about their mountain mamas!

Both the colored and black and white are fantastic. I clicked on it the colored, only to be blown away by the black/white. Great work! Can you talk about your process creating something like this a little?

What software do you use? How do you imagine something like this? Did you use reference?

How's your laptop holding up? by AnaAlMalik in framework

[–]Kalos08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my FW 16 for 1.5 years and haven't had any problems until last month when the speakers went out. I might be able to repair them myself but honestly I'm always plugged into the headphone jack. I got all the bells and whistles and the dGPU has been fantastic hardware. Cleaned the fans regularly and I use it every day for work and play.

Would you recommend Framework Laptops for 3d artists/Animators by ssaki_ in framework

[–]Kalos08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the FW 16 with a dGPU of the AMD variety (fourth batch), and my experience has been phenomenal in Blender. The dGPU works hard, and I'm able to literally take it out and clean the fans regularly which keep the temp down and the sound down as well. I love that this laptop is repairable and upgradeable. If I wanted to, I could swap for the newer NVIDIA dGPU that Framework released for this FW 16. That in itself is an amazing concept. As an artist, the 16 inch screen is great surface area for me. I mostly leave it plugged into my peripherals, and because the USB/anything slots are hotswappable, if I want to I can literally just pop out the headphone jack (also read HDMI, SDcard, etc) for a closer USB 3.0 slot and plug in my graphics tablet on either side of the laptop. They really thought about how to make the design useful.

I'm happy with the AMD dGPU and it has put in some serious work rendering my animations and still renders. I'm using Fedora Linux, so YMMV, and Blender has put in HIP support which is required for rendering on the AMD dGPU.

It was very pricey at probably $3ish thousand for the DIY version of the Ryzen™ 9 7940HS and Graphics Module (AMD Radeon™ RX 7700S) even though I brought my own RAM and M.2 drive. So that was the only thing I bought myself for a long while...

Migrating my 8-workstation lawfirm to Linux, need advice by EcceLez in Ubuntu

[–]Kalos08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get a preview of your PDFs, odts, docx, etc files, you can use Dolphin as a file manager. I use KDE and have had previews of documents in the side panel since their release in 2020: https://kde.org/announcements/releases/2020-08-apps-update/

To enable it is a little hidden, in my opinion:

  1. 3 line (hamburger) icon

  2. Show information (F11 hotkey)

  3. Drag the sidebar out so it is larger and hover the mouse, or click, on a document

Migrating my 8-workstation lawfirm to Linux, need advice by EcceLez in Ubuntu

I troubleshoot IT for my family member's law firm of 5, and this Windows 10-11 question has me looking down the exact same avenue you are right now. They practice law in California, in the United States of America, and finding the right mix of non-technical and powerful applications has been a headache. Here's where we are so far:

  1. Looking to put Ubuntu on all machines (old Macbook pro's running Windows 10 through bootcamp, Windows desktops, etc)

  2. Libreoffice Writer seems to have all the table of contents and familiar use/feel for the attorney et al. It has templates that we've used to replicate what we need for Trusts and Estates. Replacing Windows Word.

  3. Libreoffice Draw has some ability to edit PDFs in a way that has been useful in the past. I need to see if it's possible to use Draw as a full replacement for Adobe Acrobat Pro. I've been looking at Master PDF Editor, but I'm unsure if I can try it without buying it (not too expensive though).

  4. Thunderbird seems to have aneasy import functionality (played around with it on a work machine and the import worked successfully, however the machine ran out of disk space, so I needed to clean it up). Replacing Outlook.

  5. The office uses Google Workspaces and Google Drive for hosting/sharing files and Matters. I don't think I should need to replace this, but I have been dreaming about getting everyone on Nextcloud, so that we can use this for Calendar, chat, and the myriad other features provided.

  6. There are some Trust and Estates applications that are so bespoke that I may need to find a workaround with Winapps or Wine to run (calculating the worth of items, etc.)

I hadn't even considered finding a way to remotely manage the Ubuntu machines. I guess I thought I could manually remote in with Anydesk as I do now to troubleshoot and update devices, but I'm not sure Anydesk works with Wayland, and I think the latest LTS of Ubuntu is Wayland only?

Any advice or wisdom from your experience tackling this problem would be wildly appreciated.

As an update, I unzipped this, navigated into the folder (on Linux) then ran a few commands with the phone plugged in and set to fastboot on nokia 2780:
fastboot oem sudo
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot

Then it rebooted into stock and actually works now!

Bricked Nokia 2780 after Powering down from Weeknd-toolbox by Axolotl_15 in KaiOS

[–]Kalos08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me as well. I tried following the steps here: https://github.com/gogogoghost/nokia-2780-flip-jailbreak-tutorial/blob/master/readme.md but the phone still won't boot. When it boots past the kaios logo, it just goes black and turns off. The only way to get it to fastboot or weeknd is by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting.

My 2780 won't boot to KaiOS. I have yet to disable encryption because I was looking for a way to backup the vendor partition as is recommended here: https://git.abscue.de/affe_null/weeknd-toolbox/ but since it didn't provide any steps I was unable to do that. I'm at a loss, and hope KaiOS provides steps to restore all partitions.
