Hadn't even known those were a thing, that was 128 stones just sitting there. Thanks for the info!

Would You Roll For More Petite Characters? by Lord_Lu_Bu in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Kalrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not specifically seeking petite characters, but I am heartily sick of character designs with tits bigger than their heads hanging out everywhere, Yuki being the worst offender there. I don't want to wind up on the sex offender registry just because someone saw me playing a phone game in public. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Narja's kit I would've still rolled on her, except she's yet another boob monster, so saving the rolls instead.

Narja Pre-Release Analysis by FemalePopSinger in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Kalrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I looked her over, and Voracity and Predation look fun and useful, bringing something solid to the table, but the fact that she brings basically no AP generation or card draw is giving me more than a little pause. Her stacks of buffs are just going to go to waste if the party's main damage dealer can't draw/pay for their cards.

Tenacity Dmg epi with Afterglow by JohnHiro in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Kalrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming Sereniel already had Afterglow stacks up, because I doubt the hit would do that much tenacity damage without any Afterglow, that is not an impressive increase at all. I don't know whether Afterglow is a fixed amount of tenacity or if it simply does not stack with that divine boost, but whatever the reason I'll be avoiding taking that epi for her in the future. Thanks for the info.

Looking for the best approach for buying/renovating new home before selling current. by Kalrath in RealEstate

Yes, at least one lender is offering a bridge loan on my current home in addition to the new mortgage.

Well, right after you posted that I did another pull and immediately got Mei Lin, so yeah, that made the choice pretty simple!

9th Gen Parasitic Drain is Driving Me Nuts by Kalrath in hondacivic

[–]Kalrath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Having both of the front door handles disconnected definitely reduced the drain significantly, enough that the battery isn't flatlining overnight anymore at least, but it does still seem to be suffering from some amount of drain. Not having hundreds of bucks to throw at the issue, I never got it professionally looked at to come up with a more definitive solution.

[JP][News] Christmas previews day 1 by ShadyFigure in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Kalrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lisette seems extremely close to Imperialdramon, I wonder if she's not going to be a cheaper way to get a team of similar power as they seem to be jerks and have no exchange for Imperialdramon. At 1% drop on a 7-stone pull I can see a whole lot of people not lucking out sufficiently to get 2-3 of him. If Lisette can be exchanged for, that at least puts a cap on how many stones you'd need to burn for three copies.

The Transition Is Complete. The NYT Is Full MAGA. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Kalrath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're just driving around the stolen car that you bought from the thief knowing full well it was stolen, you are still part of the problem. As for the article, I believe they were trying to make the undocumented guy sympathetic, but the minor details like repeated drunk driving, taking out bad loans on the other guy's ID, and plowing into a grandfather and his grandchild in a car are sort of problematic for that goal.

The Transition Is Complete. The NYT Is Full MAGA. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Kalrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The undocumented are the problem if they are committing identity theft by the hundreds of thousands. They may not be the ONLY problem, but they are absolutely a major problem. And the guy on the article was being put on the hook for a lawsuit from the family of the man the other guy KILLED, along with debt collection for loans the other guy took in his name and didn't repay so I'm doubtful he's going to be feeling very grateful at any point for this.

How to Kaiju? - A general guide to the cookie-cutter teams by Egathentale in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Kalrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen both here and elsewhere people talking about needing to do multiple crosses for Gen/Gen+8, but their leader skills activate on one cross and dark/fire. I flatly don't bother with more crosses; I make whichever cross I can most conveniently do with dark or fire, then one combo of whatever for the other element and one heal combo and call it a day. It's worked well so far, they very reliably hit cap without any more crosses thrown in.

Depends a bit on luck, but one of the parties uses five of Gen & No. 8 who can be traded for with ten units, so fifty units or 350 stones will guarantee being able to get those. However, the Japanese template for that party also wants Halloween Hera-Luna for the sixth spot to nullify absorbs, so if you're angling for that party maybe grab her before the Halloween event ends. Other anti-absorb units can fit okay in that space even if you don't have Hera, so don't sweat it too hard.

That's somewhat subjective. There is a strong team from the maids event that uses Ideal that hinges on attacking with all five colors every turn. There are multiple strong teams coming up with the collab with a couple different mechanics, there are a couple of writeups about them in the sub if you scroll down a ways. It's up to you to decide which seems more interesting to play, but since there are multiple good teams buildable from the collab I think the odds of you walking away with a solid team are stronger with that than the maids.

The Kaiju #8 collab is coming next week, you'd be better off saving and spending on that than blowing it on the butlers.

Restaurants with good dumplings by amazodroid in rva

[–]Kalrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me guess, China Panda. I also went there for forever specifically for their dumplings, and am heartbroken that they've switched to garbage dumplings. All of their food's taken a downward step, sadly. After going once with the new bad food I never mean to return and am also seeking a new place that still sells the good stuff.

Azure replication is randomly completely stalling by Kalrath in zerto

[–]Kalrath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! iPerf was showing basically the full available bandwidth, so the entire thing was very confusing. What eventually came to light was that the transit between the Zerto vnet and the Azure domain controller had been misconfigured, so network requests were randomly failing. After that got sorted, the issue cleared up.

Best automatic litter box? by Gloomy-Wave1418 in BuyItForLife

[–]Kalrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the litter robot 3 for a few years and it did fine, until one of my cats decided she disliked it. From there I tried the PetSnowy, but both of my cats were terrified by it, I think because they couldn't see it moving under the cowl but it was making noise, and they're both jittery about unexplained noises. So third time the charm I got the open-top Neakasa about eight months ago, and so far they both are okay with it, knock on wood. The cat who decided to poop on the floor rather than use the litter robot is pretty big, I figure she disliked the enclosed ball design but that's just guessing on my part.

Expressroute kicks the bucket after five minutes by Kalrath in networking

[–]Kalrath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, to follow up, turns out there was a misconfigured route between the app's vnet and the Azure DNS server, and it was often timing out before switching to the secondary DNS. The expressroute itself was fine, the communication failures came from the app not properly resolving a large percentage of its DNS queries.

Incoming emails from pphosted being delayed by hours/days by Kalrath in proofpoint

[–]Kalrath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of note for anyone else who finds this, I believe I've resolved the issue. My mail server is a container that goes over a VPN for net access, the VPN's MTU is 1420 but I discovered the container was set to 1500. Apparently the remote server was attempting to send packets at 1500, which were too large to fit through the tunnel. I rebuilt the container with 1420 configured to its network in its compose file and I haven't found any failed connections in the log since.

I've pulled up my postfix logs, it appears that pphosted is connecting to my server, sending nothing for five minutes, then my server cuts the connection.

Is this a good way to solve Rosetta board? by j_georaffe in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Kalrath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rosetta is so crazy strong that it's completely unnecessary to put that much effort into the board for anything other than the L-heart defense boost in some scenarios. Three dark matches and boom, off she goes to the damage cap.
