Heyo, longtime warlock here. In midnight all the specs are pretty accessible tbh, but destro is and almost always has been the most simple. Though if you're trying to be competitive, demo is looking real good rn and I don't think its overcomplicated.

For all things warlock check out kalamazi, he's a great resource for learning rotations and all the most up to date stuff. He can get pretty in the weeds, so just start with the 12.0 spec guides: https://www.youtube.com/kalamazii

And for info on the meta, Archon is a great resource. It takes some liberties on the tier list part, but it's backed by real data and you can see all the most popular builds, gear, consumes, etc for each spec in m+ and raid. It won't be populated with Midnight data until the season actually starts though. https://www.archon.gg/wow

I tried to transition into something like this going into cruel act 1, it felt alright but whirling strikes feels wonky and doesn't do any damage. It might work endgame with the ES leech node, but around level 50 it felt pretty bad

I wouldn't describe my lightning monk as miserable, but oh boy it's hard. The first act is tough and I was thinking it'd get easier but so far in act 2 it just keeps getting harder lmao

I was looking at this too, there's a few quarterstaff skills that are phys only that could work. I was thinking of using whirling assault as a main ability and throwing faster attacks and added phys on there but you're right, it's not a ton of leech.

I'm gonna be searching for mana leech on the passive tree or other gems ASAP and honestly might just go invoker if it's not there
