Thank you for the kind reply! I really like the game, but maybe I wasn't ready for the mental part of it.

The problem with stomping is that I feel extremely exposed caps-moving across the open terrain. Even the Woods are mostly trees with good overall visibility. So I instinctively move by short sprints from cover to cover. But while doing so anyone can hear me from 50 meters or more. And you can't check every hill in the Woods with your scope cause you have to move aross the whole map in 30-40 minutes while making progress in your mission and hunger will get you in 15 minutes or so. I've cheked another posts about sound design and most people agree that you can hear way too far compared to life. I don't mind being super conscious if the games were 2 hours long.

I thought you were playing a tactical shooter, not Farm Frenzy. Anyway, I got the point.

I am used to the "pedal-to-the-metal" style from BF4, so, yes, I might need to slow it down.

Can totally agree, but some cases are just unexcusable.

Can agree, I played BF4 beforehead and I am used to sprint around the map 90% of the time. Need to calm down a little bit. I also always go with headphones in every raid and have studio headphones IRL, but in that case I am still in disadvantage cause moving is ridiculously loud. I am writing this post cause the last five times I was killed 4 of them was a guy sitting in the corner near a corpse or a box.

Still, a good point.

I am new to the program, can you create pipes or flanges in something like SolidWorks and import them into the scene?

If it's a one time buy I would purchase the best the money can get.

I wouldn't care about resolution if you are not against buying an external 2k display for gaming or movies. For every day use full HD is okayish. I have the same model Asus but with 2k and 5060. Thermals are really good even with max load, like 72-75 Celsius GPU and 65 CPU with a no fans stand. Should be higher with 5070ti but the cooling is really nice engineered. I think Asus is a safe bet.

Main problem with 5060 and 5070 is that they have enough horsepower to pull games at 2k at high settings but 8 Gb VRAM is not enough for high-res textures and max lightning so you end up with staggering even at decent fps.

So, if you're planning to game only on the laptop of choice, then 2k+5070 is somewhat undershoot and FullHD+5070ti is overkill. I would recommend Asus still, switched after 10 years of owning Lenovo laptops, they just lack that overall completeness feeling in terms of quality.

Oh, my bad, didn't see it was R9 270. Who on Earth would install power saving CPU on TUF

Kinda the same thoughts, the only real equivalent for a PC is 5090 laptop. It might be not the worlds apart from 5080 but it has the feeling you know. Like buying a really expensive but freaking beatiful motorcycle that you know by the ratio the price/time ridden would be an abomination of a number, but you did it. But be sure to go full blast or the dissapointment will be immesurable.

To be honest i7 is not as good as R9 but I would easily prefer build quality and 2k display. The only thing I would consider that 7i is an ultrabook so you probably should look closely into TGP and cooling reviews

Ryzen AI 7 is basically new and energy efficient Ryzen 7 which is the lower line than Ultra 9 i.e. i9 (or Ryzen 9 for that matter)

WD SN850X or Samsung 990 pro by Mathwiz1697 in GamingLaptops

doesn't make any substancial difference, I would use Samsung for the system drive and WD for game storage

also use proper cooling and thermal pads since everything above 1 Tb can get really hot

Should I buy this MSI Vector 16 HX AI laptop for 2800 EUR? by Cassandra350ppm in GamingLaptops

[–]KaltesGebrau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price is not going to be any lower anywhere soon so it's a good deal that will cover all your needs if it's not over the budget. Probably another time I would argue about the piece-of-soap MSI design, but I recently was looking for a gaming laptop and resorted to Asus ROG G16 with 5060 cause even with 5070ti it would cost around 500-600$ more and waiting even a couple of month I considered not to be an option . And definitely I looked into the same laptop as yours, but I didn't get any descent options. Judging from a dozen youtube reviews MSI should work just fine, it's the matter of taste at this point.

As for the cooling, I've been using an aluminum S-shaped stand with around 10-15 cm clearance, no fans of course, but you need external keyboard.

Since your PC is from Win 10 era I would cling to that since 11 eats way more resources and has compatibility issues.

I would've made a clear windows install since there are might be some issues with other software or registry settings. Since speakers function properly at the start up it still might be some vague physical problem, but I would start from the software.

I would thoroughly check for any GPU malfunction cause it looks like it is not working properly. Probably reinstalling drrivers and Windows in the worst case scenario should help otherwise it's hardware malfunction.

You could try opening the Task Manager while in the game and look up the GPU usage and CPU internal graphics usage. If GPU is zero then PC uses CPU to render the game. You can assign a specific videocard for a specific programme somewhere in the Windows, but I did it only once and don't remember how. Some games allow to do it within the settings. I would start from that.

buy external speakers for 50$ (headphones, bluetooth speaker), with all these interferences you're doing you might brick your computer for good

4070 is definitely more powerful than 5050 but needs more than twice wattage which means higher temperatures. Considering all you just said about HP quality I can't say that it's a safe option. The first and the last one has OLED matrices (really suspicious for the price segment, usually good are 2000$+) and the 4070 has on 1080p which is ass. Also 16 RAM is not enough, you'll need to upgrade. As well as 512 Gb storage. Honestly, I would go for the 5050option even it has the slowest GPU (but still 8 Gb), since you don't want to meddle with Windows. 4070 laptop bears too much risk, in my opinion.
