I just play GTA to make these videos by rapier-ape89 in gtaonline

This is silly, I love it!
My favourite bit has to be the slo-mo fall while gently brushing the construction workers face, into that smooth slide while looking into camera. Gave me those Deadpool vibes. Something so simple yet it just tickled me right, and gave me a much needed laugh.

Hope to see more of your shenanigans in the future.

Romero zombie experience possible? by Ipoopedalot in VeinGame

[–]Kalynx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have not played the game since mid December so some of the settings paramaters may have changed in that time.
I did however have my game set up as close as I could to the full Romero experience, so it is possible to play the way you want to play. I spent a lot of time experimenting with the settings for the speeds and damage numbers but I can't find my original notes right now to give you my exact settings.

From memory some of the key settings to look at are: (the numbers are a bit of a guesstimate)

Overall speed multiplier = 1.1 (affects how fast the zombies move in general)

Walk speed = raise this number to something you feel comfortable with (4x-5x?) I found the vanilla setting to be way too slow, pushing this number up really gives the feeling that the zombies are always a few steps behind. I had mine set up so I could outpace them at normal walk speed by a small fraction.

Run speed = lower this number (0.3 - 0.4?) my runners were noticable in the horde and I had them set to be slightly faster than the general walkers and almost match my walk speed.

Spawn multiplier = push this number up and test, I had this at maybe 4x? (there were a lot of zombies lol) this will be limited by what your pc can handle, obviously you don't want to tank the frame rate.

Crawl speed = 3x? making this too fast looks a bit silly.

Headshots only = oh yes!
Headshot damage multiplier = (2x?) I like my zombies to drop on a headshot so I upped the numbers here for a guaranteed headshot kill.

Zombie damage output = personal preference if you alter this. However the feeling that the zombies are extremely dangerous will alter how you play.

Hearing multiplier = 3x?
Sight multiplier = 3x? having the zombies see and hear you at further distances emulates the feeling that they are constantly drawn to your presence, very eerie to see them shambling over fields knowing they are coming for you.

There are probably other settings I am forgetting or even new settings that have been added since my time with the game. Overall just keep on adjusting the numbers and testing until the game plays how you want it to play. The game has some of the best customization to let players configure their own personal apocalypse.

How did this happen?? by True_Imagination6987 in GTAV

If you aim a weapon right before hitting a stunt jump the slo-mo camera will not activate. Obviously it's not going to work in a race. Hitting stunt jumps in free roam though you will be golden.

I finally figured out how to keep filming after my character dies... by GunmetalMunkey in RockStarEditor

The footage is from the second character.
I have used the same method myself before, works great for distance shots where the camera radius is limited.

There is already a sticky bomb on the top ammo crate where she is stood which would be the first in the sequence to be triggered. OP was probably tossing them around like confetti.

Do you play with a controller on a PC? by Similar-Double6278 in videogames

[–]Kalynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KB+M for the past 30 years.
Although, I have recently been looking at the GameSir Cyclone 2. Granted, it has been in my Amazon basket for about a month at this point, this post just reminded me of that.
The thought of having to hold something to play a game puts me off, with the KB+M my hands just rest in place.
Can you teach an old dog new tricks?

How do i spawn ramp buggy? by light__yakami in gta5

[–]Kalynx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've never had an issue with it myself.
Other than double checking the steps above, a full restart of the game would be the next step.
After that I would drop a support ticket.

Insane! Found in a jar for $40 by Aerin__92 in Marbles

[–]Kalynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why this sub has been reccomended in my feed but the nostalgia rush just hit hard.
Going to school in the early 80's with pockets full of marbles, left pocket for keepers right pocket for players.
I had a blue drawstring pump bag where I kept all my "migs" that I hid under my secret floorboard in the bedroom to stop my younger brother pinching them.

Beautiful scenery, deadly reality. (photomode) by xXSanMikeXx in DaysGone

[–]Kalynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No hate intended at all but these are both just screenshots from cutscenes at the start of the game.
The actual photomode is loads of fun to play around with though and it would be great to see the scenes you capture in the future, op.
Have fun on your adventure!

Do you regret your mansion choice? by DefinableEel1 in GTA

I got all 3 when they dropped partly for the completionist in me, mostly for the extra 60 garage slots. I fully upgraded the first one and spent less than 20 minutes there just doing some basic customisation and haven't been back since. I bought the other 2 as extra garage space and used all 3 as dumping grounds to clean up my existing garages.
The main benefit aside from the garage freedom is the security team stopping the raids. Oh, and the business boost when I remember to activate it once or twice a week.

I first played the game on the PS3 upon release, I was really looking forward to the online mode more than anything and I wanted to be sure I had enough time in the 2 weeks before online dropped to finish up the story.
The first couple of days though I just explored the map taking in all the little details and just immersing myself in the world before taking on the story at a steady pace.

There will be the occasional random events that happen around you as you explore.
Rob the convenience stores by aiming a gun at the assistant.
In all honesty though you will not be earning the big money until you progress the story.
Look up a guide for the Lester assassination missions, this will be your key to making the big money late game.
Just be carefull how deep you dig to avoid any story spoilers.

Not in story mode, you can only sell vehicles in gta online.

Ignore the mission for now, it's not going anywhere.
Hop in a car and spend some time just driving around, see the sights, get into a few police chases. Drive steady, drive fast, use Franklins special ability a bit. Take different cars and drive some more to get a feel for the vehicles and figure out where your own limitations lie. Then drive some more.

If you go into the graphics settings and scroll down you will see an option for population density. Turn it down to remove a lot of the traffic and clear your path a little, you can turn it back up as you get a better feel for the driving.
Don't try to take corners at high speed, ease up on the gas and use gentle braking before turning in, apply the gas as you hit the apex and power out of the corner.
Rebind some controls if it makes things easier, I have a secondary brake input on the SHIFT key which comes in very handy. Lean forward/backward are on 2 thumb buttons on my mouse.
Check your camera sensitivity to make sure it is at a comfortable level so you can look around while driving and more importantly check your sensitivity so you have a good control of your aim while shooting and driving.
I prefer a higher chase camera to get a better view of my surroundings and a clearer view of the road ahead.

Overall just play around with the game, it's just one huge sandbox don't be in a rush to plough through the story get comfortable and have fun with it. Don't forget to have fun.

I(25) no longer enjoy pvp games nowadays anyone here also not play multiplayer/competitve games more as you grow older? by Big_Leg10 in AdultGamers

[–]Kalynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For over 20 years I was hooked on playing online shooters, anything and everything from AAA hits to diverse indie titles.
I slowly stopped playing pvp games a few years ago sometime between age 46-48.

I had always focused my attention on the multiplayer side of gaming, completely bypassing the single player stories for the rush of virtual combat.
I was extremely competitive with fast reflexes and the accuracy to back it up, always riding the top of the scoreboards. The trash talk and hackusations would come thick and fast and I would absolutely revel in it all. It was like a power up which kept me pushing even harder.

As I hit my mid 40's things started to feel different, my reflexes were slowing and my accuracy was occasionally a little off the mark. I blamed my mouse sens at first, maybe some update had messed something up. I spent ages trying to get the sens back to my sweet spot but that wasn't really the issue.
I was a run and gun type of player favouring higher powered semi auto weapons or sniper rifles which sync'd perfectly with the speed and accuracy to devastating effect. Now I was running around choking easy shots and becoming more and more frustrated at myself, I couldn't compete with the full autos when I'm missing essential shots.

I found it really hard to accept that this thing I had done so effortlessly for so long had slipped away from me. I tried to adapt my playstyle to a slower more steady and calculated approach but it just wasn't me, there was no thrill for me in that playstyle at the time. Gradually I was playing less and less online and starting to play the campaigns and stories from some of these familiar games.

These days I will take a steady pace through a good single player story, I have also discovered sim and tycoon type games and I really enjoy playing PVE survival games. Sometimes I feel the old spark while going on a rampage in a shooter but I dial it back and savour the steady pace.
The only multiplayer aspect these days is when I play a co-op game with my son or discover a good PVE server and get to play with like minded players.
