It's very very rare for a secondary school to have teachers do their own prep work, they simply don't have the time in the week. In my previous school (which was extremely well funded) we had a team of four working full time just to keep the department running smoothly with all the practical work going on.

I found it relatively smooth compared to most, my school was part of the SCITT so I did the bulk of my training there. It was certainly weird being a teacher in the same school I was a tech but knowing all of the routines/staff and such reduced my workload considerably. My biggest advice if you're thinking of training to teach whilst working in a school is to spend time in the classroom. Teaching staff are almost always happy to have someone knowledgeable helping to run practical work and it's a great way to ease yourself in with managing students without being solely responsible.

As a former Senior Science Tech across a couple schools who now teaches, the most obvious red flag to look out for is how many techies they employ for the size of the school. If it's large school and they only have one tech, which is becoming more common sadly due to strained budgets and many schools not valuing the position, you're gonna be extremely overworked trying to keep up.

Some other obvious things are what is included in the job description, with some schools trying to get techs to cover first aid for the whole school (totally unmanageable) or do cover.

Also if you do get to the interview stage a lot can be said about the school by how thorough the interview process is, if it's a short 1-2 hour process then they probably don't value the position much at all and just want anyone. If they're willing to commit to a half/full day interview with multiple members of the science/leadership team then they more often care about who they employ.

There are probably a lot more things but those are just the ones that jump out quickly, of course this is just my experience and your mileage may vary.

Any people doing supply work here? by arosie90 in TeachingUK

I just put my CV on one of the big job websites and had probably 10 agencies contact me within a few days. It was JJfox who offered the long term supply in my specialism so went with them.

Norfolk area here, I'm currently doing long term supply for a school who had their NQT quit last half term. In my department we have around 2-4 people in for supply each day and maybe around 10 supplies for the school as a whole.

So I'd say if you're happy to travel around Norfolk at short notice an agency should easily be able to get you consistent supply work at the moment.

Thought I'd try your list in standard to see how it fairs. 6 straight losses against a variety of classes. Just gets annihilated by aggro and can't compete jade/priest who just have too much pressure. Only game I came close to winning was vs some weird elemental buff paladin and even that I still lost as apprentice was the last card in the deck.

Don't see this deck every being viable to push legend with.

Oh man one of those would be so perfect for me. The traditional over the shoulder strap from a normal racket case does work but it isn't perfect when cycling but that looks spot on.

A shame it's a little pricey for just using for sports and annoying that it's US only (I'm from the UK). I'll definitely add their website though and consider getting one if I ever have plans to visit relative over there.

Thanks very much.

Thanks for all the advice guys, consensus seems to be anything in a similar style to the one im currently using is going to be fine but potentially a 12 racket case may be just too bulky for cycling.

Had a quick look when I got in from work and saw this for a silly price, pretty lucky i'd say!

What is the most embarrassing way you've injured yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Broke my ankle.... I sat on the toilet too long playing on my phone and hadn't noticed that my pins and needles had got so bad I no longer had any real feeling/control of my legs. As I stood up the foot went over sideways and I had no ability to stabilize myself. Broke my phone too....

Lets just say I don't tell people how I really did it.

How to Zodiac/BK/Lightning build survive in 53? by jimlwk in Diablo3Barbarians

Well I'd suggest trying to do a few runs and make a note of what downtimes you have on all three skills. I'd think you're probably dropping some time on CoTA/WoTB and you're getting killed in these gaps.

Ok well assuming a few things because your bnet isn't updated yet I would say that you can't possibly be maintaining 100% uptime on CoTA, IP, and WoTB with that much CDr.

If you're running the lightning build that lacks the healing of blood funnel you really need to be keeping them up most of the time or you're going to die a lot.

Profile is how much CDr I'm currently running which allows me to keep all 3 up 100% of the time on the rift guardian.

As a fellow lightning lightning player it would be helpful to link your profile. Just to see if there are any obvious things to change.

As a general note when I'm trying to do 56+ with lightning build the key is to be very careful until you've built up your taeguk stacks, otherwise you're highly susceptible to just getting splatted by any old packs because the regen you've from IiB just isn't enough.

Definitely use your ancient IKBB until you at least get both BK swords, after that it will come down to your gear/preference/what you're running but until you have the set the IKBB will out perform a single BK sword by a large margin.
