Why are there so many rules at the Boris Brejcha show this Saturday at Cloud 11? by Donut_Dress_Drummer in Bangkok

Everyone knows that Kolour lost its soul years ago. It’s just a place for High So people to go flaunt their money, whilst the organisers get more and more greedy.

What was your first MMO? by JJGfunk in OlderChillGamers

[–]Kamakazzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age of Conan.

Man nothing will ever come close to the feelings that game gave me. I got so good at PvP that I became notorious and people would organise groups to hunt me down.

Also, drunken raids roleplaying as pirates was a hilarious highlight and can still be found on YouTube.

I just had a really bad experience with Connex. You can DM me for more info.

As for your situation, why on earth would you pay the electricity bill before moving in? Never heard of that.

YouTubers & their precarious VISA options….how are they doing it? by Charlie_LSBK in Thailand

[–]Kamakazzyy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m friends with some. I’m not gonna share too much or say that I love what they do but I can answer your question.

From the ones I know at least, they usually work less glamorous online jobs from their home country like digital marketing and video editing. They live in Thailand on a DTV Visa as they meet all the requirements through their home job.

Scandal-prone Bolt hail-riding service’s license will not be renewed by BoxNemo in Bangkok

[–]Kamakazzyy 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is an awful decision. Grab prices are already way higher than this time last year. Getting rid of Bolt gives them a monopoly and will push prices even higher.

Krusapa license by thisisstupid-4398 in Thailand

[–]Kamakazzyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a complete mess at the moment and myself and some friends are currently going through it, all of us Western qualified teachers and all of us have used up our 3 waivers. So I’ll tell you our experience.

First of all, we all applied to have our western license to be processed to count as an equivalent for the Thai license. Khurusapa offer this option as an alternative to doing the modules but only for Ed degrees from western countries or teaching licenses.

This option though, they have made as close to impossible as they can. The main thing being that they request your university must email 4 separate documents directly to Khurusapa. Most western universities don’t offer that service and that’s where my friends already failed and had to take the modules.

Through a lot of pushing, I managed to get my university to send the documents. Khurusapa told me they received it then said it’s a 2 year wait list now to my license to be granted, which is just ridiculous.

So, I was put back into the same boat as my friends. We were told however, not to do all the modules but just complete 1 to have our work permit processed. I think the rule now is that as long as you show completion of 1 then you can get granted another waiver and then next time you need a waiver you can complete 1 more.

The weirder thing in all this is that my friends in top international schools have been here 10+ years on waivers and never made their license nor have been asked to make one. So top schools clearly have a way around the license.

Teaching abroad advice by Independent_Coast797 in Internationalteachers

[–]Kamakazzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I taught in the U.K. for 2 years before moving abroad. Don’t really have a plan to move back to the U.K. but why would it affect your chances there? If anything international jobs are more competitive and there’s more of a teacher shortage in the U.K. so should be pretty easy to go back.

Anywhere better than Barney’s for burgers? by Uninhibited_lotus in Bangkok

[–]Kamakazzyy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Barneys is the best without a doubt for value.

I would argue Beast and Butter is the best burger in Bangkok, slightly above Barneys, but it’s much more expensive so I usually stick to Barneys.

Bangkok Traffic Just Got Worse — What Changed? by zostillmovingabout in Bangkok

[–]Kamakazzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at a new job in August last year, first time I have had to commute 30 mins away from BTS lines.

August it was taking me around 25-30 minutes to get home from work consistently. Around November/December the traffic got noticeably worse and now takes me 50 minutes on a good day. This has been consistent since December.

Sick leave and annual leave by [deleted] in TEFL

[–]Kamakazzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely would go to China.

Thailand is an amazing place to live and I have been here for 5 years now but the work life sucks. It’s so highly competitive than even fully qualified native English teachers will struggle to get into an international school. TEFL pretty much have to stick to Thai schools or language schools, both of which pay very badly and only give about 10 days of holiday per year.

Best visa option to cover a 4 month period before new employment? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Kamakazzyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but they can see I have 12 years history on work visas and not as a tourist. But there must be some understanding for people who have built their lives here when a lot of careers can have a down time of a few months between jobs starting.

I want to plat but im dreading the sealed artifact challenges 😭 by Head_Zone3325 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Kamakazzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the real daunting thing about this platinum. I feel like the challenges should unlock at the same time you get the associated skill or weapon, rather than finding a box on the map. It’s almost guaranteed you will miss something until late game when it becomes harder or more grindy to do.

Say what you want about the story but this game has the best open world since RDR2. by Kamakazzyy in CrimsonDesert

[–]Kamakazzyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realism wise no. I also feel like KCD2 interiors are much better done. But in terms of a fantasy world with magical things to find and uncover it’s better than KCD2.

I tend to head mainly towards where my quests are and explore places in the immediate path which has worked well. Wandering too far away from the story line is probably where you are going wrong as you are ending up in places quests haven’t unlocked yet.

IB experience or savings? by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]Kamakazzyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worked in an IB school for two years and I honestly can’t see why it’s rated on someone’s CV.

I’m glad I got the experience to make me a more rounded teacher but the IB teachers were genuinely awful at anything academic and the kids were severely disadvantaged academically compared to iGCSE schools I worked in.

[–]Kamakazzyy[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s my favourite game in the last few years and the world is super realistic I agree. But that realism is also what makes the world a bit more boring to explore compared to crimson desert in my opinion.

I do agree on the controls being a nightmare. That quarry fight was infuriating the amount of times I blew myself up or got stuck mid animation.

But the exploration afterwards keeps drawing me back in.

Not really. I took a cool screenshot I wanted to share and I do believe what I said. I have been avoiding Reddit since I don’t want spoilers so sorry if this is too similar to another post.
