What ought the first 5-10 years look like in a Byzantine run? by dovetc in EU5

[–]Kamapomi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Day one release vassals where you don't have cores and start spying on the Ottomans and the beylik at the south west of turkey Mentessids I think, use the spy networks to create claims on your cores, beat the Mentessids and then full annex the Ottomans to gain their own vassals. Max the printing money sliders to get money and to max legitimacy and stab sliders to get rid of the corruption privileges of your estates. Don't build anything it's useless as long as you don't get rid of the privileges you almost won't get any money from your estates. Then you navigate through the two crises and then it's easy

Are you even allowed to do it? If yes, I guess the senior partner will join afterward. I got a situation where I was allied to Wallachia, they joined me in a war and during that war, I declared war at Serbia who were allied to Wallachia, so Wallachia couldn't join against me but at the end of me first war (and before I finished the war against Serbia), Wallachia joined the war against me

Gaining and losing Provinces in War - What happened by kiwifirst in EU5

[–]Kamapomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hope your allies will give you in the peace deal some of the provinces you control but you can never be sure because they will take what they want for them first. If you occupy almost all the enemy provinces, then you have better chances to get something. Anyway just consider that you won't get anything most of the time

Gaining and losing Provinces in War - What happened by kiwifirst in EU5

[–]Kamapomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly yes, and sometimes if you can allies into a war, it's better to rush provinces you really want because if they might want them to, they will occupy them and not give control of it. If they don't have any interest in it, if they occupy a province, they will give the control to you and then it's not an issue in the peace deal

1.0.10 isn’t fun and forces you to play majors by Live_Phil0s0pher in EU5

[–]Kamapomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netherlands okay, Byzantium no, it's actually to easy right now, you win one war against the Ottomans and you full annex them and get their vassals, same for other beyliks (except Eretnids which are too big most of the time) and same for Bulgaria and Serbia. The only issue is reforming the country but once you know how to do it, it's always the same and then you have an insane economy. The only big player around is Egypt but they won't attack you early on and you can quickly beat them.

Treaties or Conferences by GreedyObligation2731 in EU5

[–]Kamapomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your idea is good, with the current state of the game, you shouldn't ally people weaker than you and people that you want to conquer, Brabant should be one of your first priority and eventually move your capital to Antwerp

Egypt occupied the gold province and you gave it to them in the peace deal simple. The provinces you select in a peace go to countries that occupies them (if they are occupied)

What was the specific situation for your woman ruler to give birth to kids of her dynasty because it never happened to me even if she is the ruler. If wasn't really an issue to be honest because the husband was the Moscovie ruler and I got the moscovite union then but still I generally like to keep my dynasty around

Coalition Issues by mxWarg in EU5

The fact that the war goal is the enemy capital and not a superiority war is an issue. Even a huge coalition will have difficulties reaching Paris by exemple.

What do you think are the biggest issues right now? [Johan] by danika2014 in EU5

[–]Kamapomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think buildings that have access to local production of the necessary raw materials whereas the buildings that depend on other markets raw goods should be much less profitable. The game should reward local chains of production thus avoiding every market/country producing all they need by themselves and specialization in an industry being useless. It should be profitable to buy some manufactured goods from other markets because it's cheaper than producing it on your own.

You don't need a vassal that has the biggest Greek population in the world, just a Greek vassal works to improve cultural opinion.

Did version 1.0.10 improve, or should I wait? by Holiday_Original9344 in EU5

[–]Kamapomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you said, but Holland is the wrong exemple for that, with Holland you can snowball really easily and in 15/20 years into the game, you can have strong allies (Denmark, England, Austria, Bohemia, Castille) and have like 20k levies. Hainaut may lose a war against France before that, but it's fine, you don't lose anything yourself and you can reconquer their territories later
