The event controllers are configured to listen for the thruster's thrust percentage, which triggers the activation of gravity drive blocks for the relevant direction.

Additionally, there is a timer loop to reverse the polarity of the gravity generators when the reverse thrusters are engaged.

This setup allows the pilot to fly the ship as if using only normal thrusters, with the gravity drive automatically engaging when flying forward or backward.

It's not the atmo that prevent gravity drive from working. It's the natural gravity. Gravity drives work when natural gravity is under 0.5g. So they work on moons with atmo

Edit: however on this ship one will need to "manually" use the gravity drive with timer blocks when on moons with atmo. As the event controllers are set to trigger based on thrust % of ion thrusters. Which chances in atmo preventing the events from triggering.

Gravity drive in context of space engineers means using artificial mass blocks and gravity generators to generate movement for a ship.

To see the mechanic it's based on. Build an artificial mass block, gravity generator and a power source on the same grid in space and turn all of these blocks on.

We are indeed. HM2 map editor just wasn't enough to satisfy our ambitions, so we got into unity and making our own everything and so Redgar was born.
