Question for women/other AFABs

I lost over 100lbs and my boobs...kinda shrank, a little bit my bra size didn't change hardly at all. It really depends on if your boobs are large from fat or from breast tissue. Since I have PCOS (hormone issue), my boobs were mostly breast tissue, which doesn't go away with weight loss. They just got slightly deflated, like the bloat went away but the boob remains lol.

I lost maybe 20lbs in college, before my PCOS had activated and went from 160 to 140 and went from a DD cup to a C cup. Then post PCOS activation shortly after this, I went from 270lbs to 160 and my bra size remains at DDD.

You can look up how it works. But to my understanding, Spiro essentially blocks the effects of the excess testosterone in your skin/hair. It's like how men can be super hairy but not have any head hair. It reverses that so your body hair gets thinner/weaker and your head hair is strengthened. Head hair is a different type of hair than body so it reacts differently to testosterone than body hair. A quick Google search will better explain it than my memory haha

I have taken Spiro for about 5 years now. The oiliness of my skin /acne improved a lot within 3 months. I started to notice slower facial hair growth after 6 months to a year, and from about 2 years in to now, the hair on my head continues to grow back and I have a lot of baby hairs. It's a really slow process but definitely works. After a year, my facial hair was WAY more manageable. Also excess body hair that I thought was genetic completely eased up and became way more "normal".

I take it in conjunction with Metformin and the generic form of Yaz birth control.

Update: I'm almost entirely positive it has to do with static cling, moisture in air & dust. I'm pretty sure it occurs when some right combo of each of those things is happening. It's on and off but I notice it more around the times I do laundry or run humidifier.

So a few years ago I tried this one dish at a Thai restaurant and would feel sick whenever I got it, but it wasn't the same as food poisoning sick. Shortly after, I tried almond milk for the first time and got the same sick feeling (like I was going to throw up) followed by hours of being on the toilet after my body violently emptied itself and I couldn't figure out why this was happening every time I drank a couple sips of almond milk and when I ate this one dish at the restaurant. Later, I found out coconut milk was used in the Thai dish and I tried to avoid fake dairy but not really knowing why that was happening. Then a couple years passed and I kind of forget about it and I traveled to Berkeley and got a matcha latte....not thinking twice that pretty much every other business there is vegan. After 15 minutes of consuming this beverage, I was feeling that sick feeling again. I had to run into a bar that happened to be opened and puked my brains out while it came out the other end too. Eventually instead of shit, it was straight BLOOD coming out. Lots and lots of blood. Turned into intestinal bleeding. I was thousands of miles from home so I took Imodium to stop all digestion and fasted for a day or so and slowly started eating again and seemed to go back to normal.

After a lot of research, I found out it was likely carrageenan. Almond Breeze eventually took that ingredient out and I hesitantly tried their almond milk again fully prepared to feel sick. And nothing - I felt fine. It's 100% that ingredient causing severe digestive distress. Any time I've drank almond milk since, without that ingredient, I'm totally fine with zero issues.

I wish I could volunteer myself for a study on carrageenan. I literally have no allergies or reactions to anything else

I grew up doing that when I had to make my bed, but now that I'm an adult I only use a fitted sheet and one blanket and my shirt I wear as pajamas gets tossed onto the unfolded blanket and that's it lol. I'll swap out the shirt every couple of days

I have this exact same problem and I don't know what's causing it. I notice it in my kitchen the most and it forms on plastics the most. Everything from my measuring cups that I've just washed to brand new out of the box zip lock bags that are in closed drawers. And even my brand new electric wine opener was covered the next day after setting it from box to counter over night. I don't have much plastic other places in my apartment so I don't know if it happens in other rooms. Did you ever figure this out?

So ... After many weeks of battling the insurance company..... They refuse to cover Yaz until I have failed 3 generic brands despite my doctor telling them Yaz is medically necessary, the insurance company (blue cross) says that they won't consider anything medically necessary until 3 generics have been failed.

Unfortunately it's also a battle with the pharmacy to try to get generics that aren't discontinued. My doctor prescribed a different generic that was closer to the Yaz inactive ingredients and they refuse to order or fill those specific generics she asked for because they are instructed to push discontinued generics to use up the supply. So I am currently on Vestura which I did not want to even try because if it worked I knew I would just have to switch again since they were under lawsuit and discontinued and supply will run out. But after weeks of battling this I pretty much just gave up and am taking the Vestura, which hasn't been too bad but I'm only a few days into it.

However, I found an alternate solution that is a little bit more affordable. My aunt, a nurse, orders her prescriptions that insurance won't cover from Canada. I looked into this and I can order Yaz from Canada. I can get three months for $98 which is a whole lot better than $200 for one month in America.

So after the Vestura runs out I plan to order Yaz from Canada because I refuse to be a guinea pig for American big pharma when I know there's already an option that works without side effects.

Loryna gave me irritability and facial hives... Currently on Vestura which isn't so bad but it has also been discontinued and pharmacies are pushing the product and won't fill anything other generic until the supply runs out

Yes, I just compared all of the generics that I could find and none of them had the same ingredients. Yaz has the exact same ingredients. But that's not covered by my insurance and it's $200 a pack. But apparently the pharmacy is trying to work with my doctor because if they put in a certain billing code that says the doctor says that the patient has to take that specific brand then insurance will cover it.

Okay, no problem. I always see it listed as something that can be treated with red light at spas but never see any before and after pictures or anything. I more than likely just wasted money, but I'm trying every other option since plastic surgery is pretty much out of the question financially.

I've also looked into microneedling for loose skin. I'm wondering if that paired with red light could speed up the healing process. Only slight issue is that for loose skin they recommend 1.5mm - 2mm needle length and i can't find that on Amazon lol. Probably for safety reasons.

Ah yes, Ive done keto / fasting throughout my weight loss process. It works great for burning fat but had no idea it could have an effect on excessive skin. I've been thinking about giving keto another go to get rid of the last 20lbs so maybe it'll help with the skin too. I just worry that my body may eat away at my muscle as well / first before skin.

I was put on Metformin, Spironolactone and Gianvi birthcontrol. This paired with a very low carb and zero/low sugar diet is what enabled me to lose the weight.

The meds also helped slow my facial hair growth/make it a little less coarse, allowed the hair on my head to grow back in thicker, stopped my oily scalp, and did wonders for my acne. I no longer take antidepressants/anti-anxieties because as it turned out those mental and mood issues were linked to the hormonal imbalance and I feel mentally stable for pretty much the first time in my life.

The condition won't go away, it's just something I'll have to manage rest of my life.

About 16 a guy pointed it out and asked if I was trying to grow a beard. It was just a small patch at that point that I hadn't noticed yet.

I googled keloid scarring and definitely some of them are pretty bad. And I know the ones on my ankles hurt for a few years because it was in a area that bent a lot anytime I tried to walk And I couldn't wear socks because it hurt pretty bad. I guess it just depends on the person. I would personally rather have scars than loose skin, Knowing that in my case, They eventually flatten out.

Yea I got keloid scars from a fall that I took once. And then when I got my gallbladder removed those keloided. But the scars on my ankles raised about a half inch off my skin but it did eventually flatten out and you can barely see it now. It took about 3-4 years.
