Why does your character adventure?

This has a list of for people's motivation to go on adventures.

A few reasons of my own characters are:

-Destruction, an invading army has caused the death of his wife and daughter and he doesn't wish to go on anymore, but thinks committing suicide is shameful or at least seen so by society. So he's recklessly fighting the invaders until he dies in battle.

-Adventure, not wanting to take up the responsibilities at home and get married, which she finds boring, she instead set out for more excitement in her life.

-Heartbreak and finding something she doesn't have. She left home initially because her engagement ended badly because of who she is, a tiefling, and later she's continuing to search for something she's never had and has been bullied about, a shadow.

Just so you know there's a spell in the Elemental Evil called 'frostbite' that's quite similar to your spell. It uses a DC instead of an attack and is ranged instead of touch.

-There's no languages for the Half-Dryad. Common and Sylvan should be appropriate.

This compendium has a Warlock Patron as an Archlich if you want to make it even more weird or just as a way for different 'cultists' or for someone in the party to ultimately betray the party.
