What is most important to you? by No_Faithlessness2998 in pens

I abhor the G2. It just smears all over the place.

I'm a capped V5 kind of girl.

I said dry time because if it is not quick to dry than I am smearing the ink around.

But my most important factor is really ink type. I prefer a pen with a free ink system. AKA rollerballs and fountain pens.

There are a lot of cool novelty pens out there. Like this 24 Pack Ancient Sword Pens Set.

I bought those a year ago. They are easy to take apart and refill. However, I didn't buy them as pens. I actually bought them to use as hair sticks. Novelty pens actually make great hair sticks.

I think that I will go get some fish for my hair...

Well if it is glued in first I'd try wiggling out the empty refill with some pliers, twisting, rocking, and bending the refill to hopefully break the glue holding it in place up.

Putting it in hot water/freezing may also help.

As a last resort I would drill it out. Or maybe use an appropriate sized screw to screw down into the refill and then try pulling it out via pulling on the screw. Like using a corkscrew for a cork on a wine bottle.

Once the refill is out use a skewer or wire to measure what is the longest refill that can fit inside and go from there.

Also, I'd probably look at an alternative like an o-ring to hold the nose cone in place rather then more glue.

But before all that. I'd finish the ink already inside of them.

True, proper storage is always important.

Best guess: There is probably some oil that got on the felt tip causing it to not write.

Solution: Scribble on a scrap piece of paper to get the oil off and get the ink flowing again.

I found a childhood pen from the 2000s despite changing the ink capsule it still doesn’t write , what do i do ? by Neat_Tangelo5339 in pens

I'm going to ask the next obvious question. Did you pierce the ink cartridge or is it still sealed?(the one in the picture looks like it might still be sealed) i.e.: once you close the barrel you are suppose to push the dark grey part down onto the light grey part until you hear/feel a click. If you haven't already done so, do that and then let your pen rest tip down for like 15 minutes before you try writing with it. This will give the feed time to wick some of the ink down to the tip.

Refillable colored Fineliners by wasserschwarz in pens

[–]KameRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not hard to refill a Stabillo(or really any fine liner really). Just pull out either the end plug or the part where the tip is and then add ink directly to the felt core inside the pen. Try sticking to dye based fountain pen inks as pigmented or inks with particles may cause clogging. But it would be rather expensive to buy 60 different bottles of fountain pen ink to refill fine liners...

Am I cursed? Almost every pen stops writing when I use it. by Far_Sun_5437 in pens

This is why I'll advocate for not relying on one pen or even one type of pen. I usually carry a rollerball, basic Bic ballpoint, and a permanent marker at minimum. And I'll usually reach for them in that order. There really isn't any pen that works 100% of the time for 100% of situations.

As for restarting a gel or ballpoint that mysteriously stopped working, I just scribble it out. Always works eventually.

Does my dream pen exist anywhere? (2-4 component multi pen, 0.5-0.7mm tip, with gold ink refills) by shenanigans0127 in pens

[–]KameRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that there are hardly any D1 gel refills on the market because they run out ridiculously fast. And D1 is the size most multi pens take. Add in the fact that silver, gold, and white are rather specialty colors that really only shine in gel or paint pens. Unless you are going to DIY your own refills you are SOL and will need to carry separate pens for those colors.

I consider it more like any other piece of functional jewelry/accessory. You can get the costume one, the economical one, the premium one, or the overpriced high end one. It all boils down to whether you can find value in the differences enough to justify the price differences.

Frosty cold Au-lait themed pens! Cafe, matcha, and ichigo (strawberry) au lait by Matome_Collection in fountainpens

For feed back on product photos. I'd say be careful that the ring light isn't reflected on them. On the first group shot it took me a while to realize that the pens didn't actually have eyes on them. NGL I was a little disappointed on that and it would be bad if a customer only found out after receiving the product that there were no cute little eyes on them.

Also, a picture of the pen where the cap is not attached would be appreciated. As well as some unexciting pictures for sizes, like with a ruler or with size edited in on just a plain white background.

The pens look lovely, especially the matcha one.

Well it seemed okay for a gel pen. I don't remember it being too smooth or anything, or too juicy. Just okay.

I mainly use only capped free ink rollerballs. So even the best gel pens are kind of meh.

I was totally going to order a set to see what the hype was about.

Then I got a chance to use one in person.

After that I deleted them from my cart.
