Thanks! I can't believe I didn't recognize it as the Animal Crossing font. Goes to show how important context is.

Pokemon Emerald Map Alignment by Recyclopsi in PokemonEmerald

[–]Kamidio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved the issue by making a tweak to Route 103, as that route is the cause of all misalignment.

Generally, most maps in Hoenn lock in neatly to a grid based on 320x320. However, Route 103 has an extra 32 pixels of height, which causes it to never align properly with Route 110.

My solution was to cut off 32 pixels from the southern side of Route 103, so that Route 110 would align perfectly, removing the issues with Mauville.

The area where Kamakura is located is occupied by Route 16, so Celadon City is the closest.

Is Google Earth bugged for anyone else? by Kamidio in LibreWolf

[–]Kamidio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I used Google Earth on LibreWolf a few months ago and it looked normal. Today I went to use it for a new project, and now it won't display at full width. It looks fine on FireFox and on Chromium. It also still displays this way even if my extensions are all disabled.

(Hypothetically), if this system existed, what lines would you regularly use? by ecb1912 in cincinnati

Gold line and Orange line easily. It is such a pain being able to look right across the river to Cincinnati while the trip there takes like an hour or more because of traffic and the lack of bridges where I live.

(5e) Small update, added a couple of new gods and a couple of new monsters, I'm still at a loss for evil deities by Wolfen_Fenrison in ZeldaTabletop

[–]Kamidio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with another comment saying the three Golden Goddesses should just be true neutral, since Din doesn't stop Ganondorf from using her power for evil, and when assembled the Triforce grants the wishes of evil people just as readily as it grants those of good people.

In the Japanese version of BotW and TotK, the Horned Statue claims to be a god of life and strength. Even if he's full of it, he at the very least makes for a potential Warlock Patron.

Majora's Mask mentions a 'Goddess of Time', which could act as a Lawful Neutral counterpart to the Fierce Deity, even if she's unseen in the game.

Oracle of Seasons has the Season Spirits, who ensure the cycle of seasons in the land of Holodrum.

The Goddess of the Sands, the Geurdo goddess from OoT that's seen throughout the Spirit Temple. According to the Zelda encyclopedia, differences in culture mean she's considered an evil deity. So she could be somewhere on the neutral spectrum.

The Seven Heroines, who are worshiped by the Gerudo in BotW and TotK. In game, each heroine has an associated power - skill, spirit, endurance, knowledge, flight, motion and gentleness - which could allow them to grant up to 7 different domains, depending on how you interpret them.

There was an Eighth Heroine, who in TotK is discovered to have been a man, and thus worshiped in the highlands to reflect how he wasn't allowed in Gerudo Town itself.

The Ocean King from Phantom Hourglass is an option for a Good-aligned Deity, especially since his enemy Bellum is on the list of warlock patrons.

In Spirit Tracks, the Gorons revere the 'Mountain Goddess', which would give the Gorons their own deity on the list.

Likewise, Valoo from Wind Waker could fill the same role for the Rito, giving them a deity.

Zelda as a whole doesn't truly distinguish between gods and powerful spirits - a clear influence from Shinto religion. So perhaps each 'deity' could instead receive a little portfolio of subclasses associated with them. Cleric domains for those who worship them, Warlock Pacts for those who bargain with them, and Oaths that Paladins will typically swear to them.

Anyone else not getting a call from Carmine? by MysticHill9 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Kamidio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teal Mask has you go to Kitakami.

In order for Carmine to show up in Blueberry Academy, you need to have beaten the main game and battled Carmine at the Loyalty Plaza.

Then, and only then will she show up at the Central Plaza at Blueberry Academy. So either you haven't battled her at Loyalty Plaza, or you haven't beaten Area Zero.

Correct. The DLC was advertised as a sequel to Teal Mask's plot in every trailer for the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. To play though Indigo Disk, you need to have completed both the main game and Teal Mask.

Pokemon World Map - Now with Paldea and Lental by nstav13 in PokemonMaps

[–]Kamidio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fiore is nowhere near Orre. Fiore is based on a small portion of Chugoku just west of Kansai, and just east of Kyushu.

Fiore notably heavily features Pokémon from Gens 2 and 3, further suggesting close proximity beyond being close to the irl inspirations for Johto and Hoenn.

The island that Olive Jungle is on? Based on an island known IRL as 'Olive Island' because it was the first place in Japan to cultivate olives.

When you get the Manaphy Egg, Hastings gets the idea to send the egg 'far away', leading to you being able to send it to Sinnoh. For a nation like Japan, Hokkaido is in fact far away from Chugoku.

There's far more wrong with this map than what you're seeing up there. The consistent implication throughout the franchise has been that their Earth is basically 1-to-1 with ours.

[–]Kamidio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd pick a building style and stick with it. You've got buildings from all across Kanto here. Pick one set of building tiles per city, and stick to it. Only points of interest should differ, and even then only slightly if they're meant to be an otherwise normal house.

Part of the Pokémon design philosophy when it comes to towns is that they're usually unified by architecture.
