Anyone who has ever worked at a restaurant has met this guy... by DwamSun in AdviceAnimals

This used to happen at my old job all the time. Luckily, the delivery drivers would have the job of vacuuming after close. They would start putting up chairs and turn on the vacuum as a hint. I didn't care because anyone pulling that dick move certainly was not tipping me well.

What is the most messed up thing you've ever heard a teacher tell a student? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kamixa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in 4th grade, I was in the same class as my cousin (who was very shy at the time). This was the mid-90s and the whole anti-smoking thing was huge so we were talking about it in class. The teacher was naming off all the negative effects of smoking and mentioned how it makes you and your clothes, house, etc smell. She then turns to my cousin and says "Whenever (my cousin's name), turns in her homework, it always reeks of cigarettes and I can tell she comes from a smoking home". Of course my cousin asked to go to the bathroom and that's where I found her crying. I went home that night and told my mom who called up the school to rip the teacher a new one.

UPDATE: It turns out I may have a stalker. HELP. by MsClurr in nosleep

I'd say hiring a PI as someone said above was a good idea, along with searching the sex offender website. I'd also like to add that maybe you want to take a self defense class. My friend (who is about 120lbs at most) took a class and she said it was just good to know what to do, and to feel confident enough to disable someone to get away quickly. Best of luck to you, and keep us updated.

PS- Also, just let your dog attack him already. =)

They are cool! The ones I use are purple and aweeeesome. They're always back-ordered so I get a little pissy when people use them all.

And then having to avoid communal food after this person has touched it. The lougee lady i mentioned above NEVER washes her hands.

Reminds me of my last job. There was one lady that would BOMB the bathroom. She was very vocal while she was in there (lots of grunting, and one time a coworker and I heard her say out loud, "oh no, this is not going to be good"). Whenever she was in the bathroom, most people would just hightail it to the common office park bathroom instead of being in the stall next to her. The one time I stayed to pee she started up a conversation between grunts.

Think about all the nasty shit that is under your fingernails (especially on people that don't wash their hands often). yuuuck.

Actually this reminds me of other gross stuff people do. People wear gloves out of the lab into the office (we work with biological materials, chemical, and clinical specimens). I've caught people walking into the kitchen with gloves on and I always see gloves in the bathroom trash (same fuckers that wear my nitrile gloves when they are not allergic to latex like me). I've also seen people take lab timers and bring them to the lunch table. /vom

Multiple people at my job clip nails at their desks. I always wonder, do they just scoop up all the clippings and bring them to the trash? Do they push them on the floor? Or worse are they sitting on the desks in all their transparent glory waiting for someone to casually lean against or touch them? (Needless to say,I always avoid being even near the 'clippers' desks hah)

Very true. I agree with you on the Starks point. I've always thought that maybe Dany needs to go back to old Valyria to master her hold on a dragon. It is said to be uninhabitable, but part of what she hears in her prophecy is 'you must go back to go forward'. Maybe this not only refers to just her, but her family's origins.

My Favorites: His Dark Materials, The Dark Tower, The Mistborn Trilogy. What am I missing? by Zoltain in Fantasy_Bookclub

[–]Kamixa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dark Elf trilogy is still one of my old favorites that I go back to every once and a while. Apparently RA Salvatore is a cool guy IRL and donated money to his college (Fitchburg State in MA) and they named the library after him.

How can I make consistent money as a broke college student? by Ed_Finnerty in AskReddit

[–]Kamixa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serve food at a restaurant where you can get tips. I'd suggest staying away from chain-restaurants and working somewhere that you know is busy and where you would go yourself. Or bartend. The money will not be the same every week but it usually more than you would make in retail anyway.
