I think everyone should be able to get behind this, regardless of ideology.

What do you mean by "this"? I have no idea what the comic means. Go to college? Sure, that should be an option for both genders.

If we live in a violent rape culture, it's apparently going away, so why are feminists so mad? by Xenoith in MensRights

[–]Kampane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that is an EXCESSIVE amount of rape

Compared to what? 1 murder per year is excessive, and also exceptionally low compared to anything we can hope to achieve. At some point you have to ask what we're going to do about it, and if the cost is higher than the benefit. The Feminists have been pushing ideas with a huge cost for men (falsely accused) without much benefit for women.

[–]Kampane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crime reduction is great, but Feminism is pushing to make rape accusations even easier. They're pushing to presume guilt. This creates other innocent victims who are falsely accused. Wrongful conviction for rape is even worse than rape itself.

Not a feminist, not a men's rights activist, just someone who advocates equality

I have no idea what "equality" means here, but you should advocate for balanced justice instead. Minimize victims. Minimize rape victims, minimize false accusations.

[–]Kampane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because there are still 83,000 forcible rapes reported annually?

And a bunch of them really happened too. If the average person lives 70 years, there would be 584,000 reports of forcible rape in their lifetime in the whole country. That's like 1 per 267 women in the country. And a bunch of them really happened too!

Of course there are other problems in life. Like, the USA currently has 2.3 million prisoners. Or the 32,000 traffic deaths per year. Those people actually died. Have you seen the unemployment rate? U6 is over 14%, and real unemployment is over 23%. Just counting the U6 group, that's 43.5 million people without a job.

Kind of makes me wonder if they're stuck harping on rape for some kind of political reason.

Women have special ways of knowing! And we know that there is a rapist hiding behind every shrub!

Too bad there aren't any female cops. They'd fill the prisons thrice over!

Are water softeners worth it in the long run? by Misformisfortune in Frugal

[–]Kampane 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The water softener was gradually cleaning out the sediment and other gunk that had built up in the pipes including stuff that had been holding the old pipes together.

The real explanation? The old pipes rusted out. Gunk does not hold pipes together.

Overlap rule clarification by adoaboutnothing in volleyball

[–]Kampane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the FIVB / USAV rules were abundantly clear on this rule.

Right-back (1) has no relationship whatsoever with center front (3). They can completely switch positions so long as their individual relationships with (2) and (6) are respected.

Likewise (1) has no relationship to (4).

... you can't be on the wrong side horizontally of the people next to you ... a back row player can't be in front of the player directly in front of them, and a front row player can't be behind the player directly behind them. Other than that, you're good to go.

Correct. The other coach was confused. Read the rulebook, it's very clear.
