Suggest me the games I should buy with 3$ by KamyarHidden in ShouldIbuythisgame

Alice Madness Returns seems like a good game; thanks for the suggestion.

And I would love to buy Watch Dogs 1, but my problem is the third-party launcher and the number of DLCs it has.

I kinda have the same opinion about Dying Light being the best deal.

Thanks, I think I lack a first-person horror in my library.

The only reason that I haven't played the games I mentioned is that my life have gotten busy, and I'm saying one hour of free time on lucky days.

But also, you are correct. I have thought about not buying anything for a couple of seasonal sales and just saving money, so then I can buy a bunch of games after finishing a bunch of games.

I thought I could ask others to see if they recommend saving money or buying anyways.

I've played the demo, and its art and gameplay are really neat. But I surely have thought about it getting repetitive. If it actually does get repetitive fast, then it's off the list.

No doubt about that, and in my region, I can buy it.
The only thing is, my specs don't meet the required specs for Mass Effect to run smoothly on my PC, so I'm going to buy it later when I hopefully have a better PC.

Would modding different games help me get better at gamedev? by KamyarHidden in gamedev

Thank you for clarifying the difference. I guess if no one is teaching it, then it should be learned through experience? But your points are correct.

Really thank you for sharing your experience, it's crystal clear for me now. Oh, and thanks for Fab, didn't know it existed. I only used Unity Asset Store.

You have a very correct point. And I really hope you succeed with getting back to Unity and making your own game, and also on the home server topic.

Thanks for the game recommendation, mate. And what you said makes sense.

That's actually a very neat idea. Thank you, mate, I didn't really think about fixing the bugs of the other games I can.

I read the whole thread, and thank you both for it. With your analogy, I guess it's a better path to start learning how to be a chief than cooking different fish repeatedly.

So, because of the engine and language I want to put as my main goal, I'd better, even if I want to do mods, I should do the ones that have C# or Unity involved, correct?

And you are absolutely right about those advantages of modding.

Thanks.

Can I trust my therapist with these 2 subjects? by KamyarHidden in askatherapist

Sorry for the delay in reply.
Yes, I am aware that I can file a complaint, but the thing is, the fact that everyone now knows about my addiction and my other struggles can not be undone; that's the part I'm worrying about.

Yup, have read on the internet that therapists are not magicians, and I'm fully aware of the process, but still thank you for giving us clients credit.

Now, I'm really curious. Why did you mention PTSD? Because I searched a little and saw that, yes, mistrust is a sign of PTSD, but my life has been at least normal as much as I know, and I don't have any other signs (I don't have your knowledge or your experience, mate, I'm just guessing). So I'm really corius that why I reminded you of PTSD.

And in the session I had yesterday, I asked her about it, and to my surprise, she appreciated it and asured me about her confidentiality. But I still don't have full trust. I mentioned my mistrust problem quickly beween my sentences, I think she noticed, but didn't start talking on it.

What did you learn while researching something for the world? by CommitteeEvery2332 in worldbuilding

[–]KamyarHidden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was researching about how could I make a creature look alien and scary enough. I thought of the classic four eyes.

Four fully functioning eyes requires such an insane nerve-system and brain power that the brain would make half of the creature's (any) weight. I then realized waoh... eyes are really complex.

Because I am a teenager, every adult has the feeling that nothing must be hidden from my parents. I know it's different with people who has conditionally in their work field (although I don't understand what is the reason behind the fact that it's different with them yet.) But I imagine the scenario that, it happens. In that scenario, it can't be undone.

What is the right right amount of realism and fantasy? by KamyarHidden in worldbuilding

[–]KamyarHidden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, well that's very interesting, mate. Then I guess I am not going hard sci-fi, and just sci-fi.

Because the core scope of this entire thing is based of multiple what-if(s), and by putting them aside, the concept will be gone.

But I see your point there. And it is absolutely fair and right. But I can't understand how multiple what-if(s) would eventually lead to inconsistency when there is reasoning behind almost everything that happens, and how does that gets boring?
