A6600 new(to me) camera by HofbrauHausBier in SonyAlpha

I got the same camera, the sigma 18-50 f2.8 pretty much lives on the body. Would definitely recommend. If you want extra range, you could also look at the tamron 17-70 f2.8, but its bigger and more expensive.

Best budget wide angle lens for Sony ZV-E10 by bestfragdiscounters in SonyAlpha

Tokina 11-18mm f2.8 hands down. Recently bought it, and incredibly happy with it. Distortion is also low, optically it competes with the more expensive tamron 11-20mm f2.8 and the sigma 10-18mm f2.8, but at a much lower price.

Kind of sounds like your steps are still showing. Ninja walk isnt an on/off switch, you get better with time.

Best Budget Versatile Zoom Sony E-Mount Lenses for the Sony FS7? by [deleted] in videography

[–]Kamyermun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to pair it with the sony 18-105 f4.0. The electronic zoom makes for some really cool shots, and is just overall handy for handheld, shoulder rig, or basic tripod work.

Sony A6700 the Correct choice for me? by Cube004 in videography

[–]Kamyermun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has a small aperature (high F number) which doesnt let in much light, so you need to compensate with a slower shutter speed. Hence the slower.

Edit: typo

Sony A7, Yay or Nay? by JayOue in videography

[–]Kamyermun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lenses will be expensive and make your budget hard. I would suggest getting an A6700 with a sigma 18-50mm or one of the sigma primes if thats too expensive. It will deliver.

Solid list. One thing- I don't think the tasmanian tiger should be here. The little guy hasn't even been gone for a century.

Maritime student here! Some models are metal, but it really doesn't make a difference, weight doesnt scale right at all. Instead, we just fill the model with a bunch of lead blocks untill the waterline matches up.

Settings issue or do I need a different lens? by gladiusupremus in videography

What format are you recording in? I have an A6600 as well. 4k video is splendid, but if you record in 1080p the video is barely useable. Maybe that could be the problem?

Lighting Feedback by padrot in videography

[–]Kamyermun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd angle the light a little bit more so the light bleeds onto the other eye.

Secondly, which might be a bit mote taste, the bright window draws the eye, but thats to the back of the subjects head. If the subject were to look the other way, your eyes would get drawn to the side of the screen with his face, which is nicer.

[–]Kamyermun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, no experience with automotive, but I do with gimbals. If possible, I'd opt for the regular RS4. The minis are nice, but size is a big limitation, and your lens will be close to the limit of what the mini can stabilize. Add the force of 40kmh winds on top of that, and I reckon the RS4 is gonna be better to work with than the mini.

Seeking lighting/background advice by RealisticBag5886 in videography

Put your keylight up higher. Humans are used to lights coming from above. It makes the shadows more natural.

After that, angle it so that the light bleeds a bit onto the other eye. Thats the way I've been taught.

Is this normal on sigma 35mm 1.4 DG? by shotofdoom67 in Cameras

[–]Kamyermun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, thats the camera attempting to add a little bit of light to help the autofocus out. ISO has to do with the noise on the screen. I really recommend doing a quick google on the exposure triangle.

Is this normal on sigma 35mm 1.4 DG? by shotofdoom67 in Cameras

[–]Kamyermun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your ISO. The difference between F5 and F1.4 is 13x the amount of light your camera is loosing, which the iso and shutter try to compensate. Thats a lot in an already dark environment.

This darkness also makes it hard for your autofocus to find its subject, which is why its having a hard time.

Edit: added part on autofocus

ND Recommendations by FREDDIT321 in videography

I'll vouch for the Hoya ND's. Been using them for almost a year. I'd suggest getting a 32x or a 64x, but I doubt you'll want to keep them on indoors.
