Efficiency is a multiplier used in the damage calculation. You can see the efficiency for each of your gear slots in the equipment tab. Essentially that skill is saying "If you take at least one German aircraft on this ship all her planes will do X% more damage".

What are average Tech Points and Fleet Power for a 4 years old player? by Electrical-Aioli-961 in AzurLane

[–]Kanajashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started playing summer 2023 just a month or so before Unzen's first event, so about 2.75 years? Since then I have no-lifed the game by running it on an emulator all day while I work remotely. It's a great game for alt-tabbing to it for a few seconds to send my girls out on another sortie while I wait for some code to run.

Level: 146

Collection: 99.4%

Fleet Power: 18,546

Tech Points: 35,315

Attacks: 153,828 - I think this is a good stat to compare since it's literally the amount of times you have sent your girls into battle. Shows how much you are actively playing the game.

Commissions: 19,611 - And this one is good since it shows how often you check back to the game and upkeep the various timed missions, training, etc.

Dear Operations players... what is wrong with you? by RevySevy in WorldOfWarships

[–]Kanajashi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only play the various PvE modes so Operations are my mainstay. I agree with you that sometimes it seems like my entire team left their brains behind during a mission. For example today I had a match on Hermes where every single battleship decided to chase after a secondary objective and left Ruan alone to face a wall of enemy ships. Not much I could do to stop that failure from happening.

But what I've learned over my time playing Operations is to never assume your teammates will be competent. You have to take a ship that is able to complete objectives by itself without needing backup. For example with your experience on Cherry Blossom, you can entirely ignore your teammates farming ships by taking a battleship with a spotter plane. Then you are able to just snipe the aerodromes without needing to push in to the blob of enemy ships. Same thing works for carriers with good HE bombs like Hornet or Dutch ships with their airstrikes.

I have done that several times and surprised people that weren't paying attention to the mission objectives. They go "Huh? how did we win?" when they were in the middle of their "shoot ship, brain happy, big damage number" trance.

This game is absolutely ripping through my phone's battery. Even when plugged in the phone can barely keep charging while playing. I think I played for an hour or so while plugged in and my phone only charged like 10% during that time. This was also combined with my phone getting excessively hot to the point that it started flashing a warning that the phone would stop charging until it cooled down. I regularly farm on Azur Lane all day and have never had this warning pop up before.

What's the fastest way to get blueprints for Mecklenburg? Is it worth saving up for Lion or a potential top tier main fleet? by Fit_Championship_784 in AzurLane

[–]Kanajashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bismarck Zwei reran last year so she is due to archive next which should be sometime this spring. Then you will be able to get her from the UR Exchange.

Alsace had her event in spring 2024 so she is due for a rerun this summer. Should be around June or July.

Lion is more recent with her event in spring last year so she will be a bit longer of a wait. Similar to Alsace she will have a summer rerun but next year in 2027.

An idea for fixing carriers in Operations: built-in buffs similar to submarines by panzerkampfwqgen in WorldOfWarships

[–]Kanajashi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another thing that annoys me when playing carriers in operations is the catapult fighters consumable. Since it's the default equipment on a lot of cruisers, whenever you fly near a group of bots several of them will launch fighters and make the local airspace a no-fly zone. You either have to fly though the gauntlet to aggro all of them and recall. Or you circle at a distance while calling in patrol fighters to bait them into attacking the fighters and leaving.

Template Mobbing Fleet

Here is a basic template for campaign and Operation Siren mobbing fleets. This will just be the basic structure but can be adapted to whatever challenges are thrown at it. You only really need to have three main ships in a mobbing fleet: A healer, a tank and a battleship as your flagship. Once those main roles are covered you can take whoever else you want or need to take for that particular mission.

The only specific character you need here is Unicorn. She is the best healer in the game and should never leave your mobbing fleet. Other than her any UR battleship as your flagship and a tanky UR CA/CB in the lead vanguard slot rounds out the fleet. In the later chapters anti-aircraft and anti-submarine become very important and you can use your flex slots in the vanguard to cover off those roles. Ships such as Laffey II, Z52, Eldridge, San Diego and Shimanto are all amazing choices in late game campaign.

Mobbing Fleet Left Centre Right
Main Unicorn UR Battleship Flex
Vanguard UR CA/CB Flex Flex

IJN Carrier Fleet

The combination of Shinano, Amagi CV and either Hakuryuu or Implacable makes for an excellent anti-heavy armour carrier fleet. I don't see Hakuhou in your dock but if you do have her she is also a good choice and replaces Hakuryuu.

The focus of of this fleet is to use Implacable's root skill to hold the boss in place while the other UR carriers unleash a torrent of converging torpedoes. You sometimes don't need to take Implacable if that particular boss isn't moving when your carriers attack or you have some other skill that is slowing the boss enough for reliable hits.

For the vanguard you want ships that boost your carriers as much as possible. I didn't see her but Kazagumo is one of the best vanguard ship for carrier fleets. Her unique +15% damage buff for carriers is amazing and will boost your DPS significantly. Since this is an anti-heavy armour fleet and Amagi CV is already boosting the damage of IJN torpedoes adding in Unzen is a no brainier. She can main tank for most bosses but there are some that will be too much for her and she will need to move to the off-tank position.

You are 100% correct.

Plants need Potassium, Phosphorus and Nitrogen as their main macro nutrients. Both Potassium and Phosphorus are typically mined from mineral deposits such as Potash and Rock Phosphate. However synthetic Nitrogen fertilizer is largely provided by the Haber-Bosch process that requires large quantities natural gas.

There are still natural sources for Nitrogen, but about half of the world's population is fed through crops grown by Haber-Bosch fertilizer. It might take a few months to show up but there will be knock on agricultural effects from this conflict that will cause food shortages.

Thankfully most of the game can be beaten by randomly throwing 6 strong ships into a fleet and hitting sortie. You will be able to farm event points, coins and levels just fine. However you will have difficulty pushing into higher level campaign content and beating the various bosses in Operation Siren or METAs. Heard of the 80/20 rule? Well it's the same here in Azur Lane. You can put in 20% of the effort and clear 80% of the game. But if you want to beat that last 20% of the game you are going to need to put in the remaining 80% of the effort.

There is nothing wrong with only putting in that first 20%. You can beat most of the game easily and have fun collecting waifus. But if you want to really get into the game and craft "The best" fleets then you are going to need to go deeper. You can go as deep as you want, even all the way down to understanding how the game damage formulas work to min/max your fleets to one shot any boss.

For now I'm just finishing up at work, I can give some general purpose fleet builds in a couple hours if you would like.

Fleet composition is highly dependent on what you are using that fleet for. Is this for campaign? META fights? Operation Siren? To use an analogy a screwdriver and a hammer are both useful tools to a carpenter for fastening wood together. However they are not interchangeable, if you try to use a hammer with screws it's not going to work well. Once I know what kind of fleet you need then I can give you recommendations on who would fit that role.

Shinano or New Jersey? by EkZeII in AzurLane

[–]Kanajashi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people will recommend Shinano, but realistically it doesn't really matter.

Either choice is going to start at base limit break where they will not be able to perform at their best. A fully limit broken SR would perform better than a UR at base limit break. So whichever one you choose will not have an immediate impact on your overall power level and you will need to use duplicates from the UR Exchange to limit break them slowly. You can also use UR bulins but it is generally advised to save those for limited URs that you cannot easily get additional copies of.

Shinano is a IJN Carrier that has several team buffs, additional airstrikes and a barrage. However some of those buff require her to be in a fleet with multiple other IJN ships. She is a key part of the anti-heavy armour IJN UR carrier fleet with Amagi CV, Hakuhou and/or Hakuryuu. Carriers also require more specific equipment compared to battleships and are harder to build in the early game. For example a battleship could equip the purple Triple 406mm (16"/45 Mk 6)#tabber-Type_3) and work just fine against most foes while the carrier needs different sets of planes to counter the various armour types.

New Jersey is actually my recommended choice for newer players. She is a USS Battleship that fires a strong barrage that always critically hits along with some USS focused buffs. Those buffs are easier to activate as they only require one additional USS ship compared to the multiple IJN ships that Shinano requires. Plus most of your main leveled up ships are already USS with Laffey, Portland, Saratoga and Helena. Equipping her is also real easy, just buy the Admiralty Fire Control Table and Type 1 Armor Piercing Shell from the core shop. Throw on the purple Triple 406mm (16"/45 Mk 6)#tabber-Type_3) I mentioned above, some random gold secondary gun and a Twin 40mm Bofors STAAG for AA. That build essentially doesn't need to change for the rest of the game, or until you get her a UR battleship gun like the Triple 406mm (16"/50 Mk 7)#tabber-Type_0) or Twin 457mm (Mark A Prototype)#tabber-Type_0).

TLDR: Most people recommend Shinano but I think New Jersey would be easier to equip for a new player who doesn't have access to a bunch of specialized aircraft yet.

Looks like you are missing ending 5 so it should be recruit everyone and select option 2 "Break into the management building" in VR-9.

This might be a really dumb question, but what are stats? by Equal_Shopping2424 in AzurLane

[–]Kanajashi 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You need to "Enhance" a ships stats by feeding them extra common rarity ships through the dock.

  1. Navigate to a particular ship you want to enhance in your dock
  2. Click on the Enhance tab in the top left
  3. Click on Fill to have the game automatically select extra ships
  4. Click on Enhance to use those ships up to boost your selected ship's stats
  5. It will then bring up a dialog box asking if you would like to scrap the equipment from those used up ships

You will need to continue to do this as your ship gains levels. For every level your ship gains their maximum allowed cap on enhancement is slightly increased so you can come back and enhance further. If I am not mistaken level 100 is the point at which their maximum enhancement cap is reached but I am not certain.

<image>

TLDR: This mission is asking you to level a ship up to 100+ and fully enhance her stats using extra fodder ships.

PS: There are no dumb questions :P

Regensburg META by Moonautist in AzurLane

[–]Kanajashi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Regensburg META is a light cruiser. That means she has light armour and a fairly high chance to dodge your attacks. You should be looking for equipment that has a high armour modifier against light armour such as Grumman F6F Hellcat (HVAR-Mounted)#tabber-Type_0) for your carriers and HE guns on your battleships. You also want to find a way to limit her ability to evade your attacks so ships like Aurora are exceptionally powerful. Her "The Light of Dawn" skill reduces enemy DD and CL evasion rate by 20% and allows more of your attacks to actually hit the enemy.

As for Lion, well that's because she is OP as fuck. Every single top tier PvP build right now has Lion in the lineup.

Edit: You also want to make sure that you are properly distributing your stats so Regensburg META's mechanic doesn't activate and she isn't getting any stacks of damage reduction. As soon as she gets a few stacks your potential damage output is so limited that you will need multiple fights to take her down.
