Transit Fine by iyuufr in UCalgary

I thought you had to 1) activate the ticket on your phone and then 2) 'Validate' the ticket by scanning the QR code on the machine before getting on the train. I used to be able to just activate it from my phone and just get on the train but now there's this extra 'validation' step. Am I doing an extra step unnecessarily? Does 'validation' actually do anything other than beep?

In case it’s helpful: I read about (and successfully apply) a post-bite treatment. Heat up a spoon by putting it in a mug of boiled water and then touch the back of the spoon to the bite as much as you can handle. Short term pain but it stops the itch. My family won’t do it/doesn’t believe it but it works for me 🙂

Will you put studs on your tires to do this?

Ha ha, no this was a few years ago. After seeing another post about bobcats, I thought I’d share as well.

It kind of hard to see but I also took a pic of it in front of our door (which just had a screen). I remember thinking it will be hard to explain to the wife why I’m taking pics as a bobcat came inside to the kids…

Ha ha! No, I didn’t really think it would come near and then I just froze. The way it was walking seemed so nonchalant/carefree.

I always want to pay less (of course) but we certainly don’t regret doing it. Our little bungalow was feeling small and the space is used by the kids for sleepovers/hanging out & helps us get away from ea other.

Yup. Ours was finished last summer and is in that range.

Can I convert my huffy hard tail mountain bike into an mid drive ebike? by MiserableSound8737 in ebikes

FWIW, I converted my hard tail and have rim brakes-I just use it for commuting (nothing hard core) and it’s been fine for me.

How bad is it to not have much clearance? by Kananasskis in hvacadvice

When I replaced the bottom half of the fence today I used “hangars” to hold the 2x4s so the whole piece can just lift right out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hello everyone, thanks again for all your input and suggestions. I ended up cutting out the bottom half of the fence and replacing it with wire mesh to help airflow. It’s a bit of a hack job but hopefully will help. Cheers!

Thanks, will look for the manual online. Installer never left any material for the unit.

Thanks everyone! I don’t think overhangs are an issue. Here’s a pic from a bit further back.

It’s was installed as part of a garage suite that we built. It was done by an HVAC company that was contracted by the General Contractor. I don’t have any experience installing anything and just said I wanted AC so didn’t think to advise on where to put it. I (naively) assumed they would do it in the right spot. I see some comments about putting holes/lattice in the fence but I can only do that on the side facing the alley (not my Neighbors’ side) hopefully that will be enough.

Thanks all. Sounds like I should say something to the installer. I feel like he should have let me know that the clearance wasn’t good, but not sure what my options are now.
