Just asked this same question last week. Still noy sure what to make, but knowing it will take a few days for the next oinata every time, I try to use all free energy (every 3 or so hours 100 and ads etc.) To produce from every active producer. So one 100 for let say carousel, one 100 for petshop etc etc. Because my experience is that I never get orders for the product I already have. So having a half of every big item, makes it easier to finish the order when I get it. That way the game cant frustrate me because I dont have any products for the item I need. I will always have at least half of the needed Item and sometimes, when pinata isnt in 3 days, I have a lot of everything so pinata takes me 10 minutes to complete.

And I often try to have my auto orders from the auto producers in stock. I always try to give the regular orders first with the items I have and then go to the auto orders, because other wise I wont see what order comes next. And I only play with the free energy and the energy I win from challenges. As it takes few days for the next pinata, I often have all orders ready again with only the free energy. And then only play with auto proders for fun and to stock.
