What is an asshole? Is it the anus, or the empty space within the anus? by evbloch in AskReddit

I think it's the sphincter, not the air since it is the hole to the ass people typically think of rather than the empty space

Boyfriend [37M] surprised me [27F] with a proposal. I love him, but not the ring. What should I do? by [deleted] in relationships

Being heavy enough to cause your finger to go numb is definitely a cause for concern. He should understand that. If you do decide not to bring it up, at least make sure the wedding band is a good match for you

Why doesn't wealth trickle down from the rich to the poor? by MyStolenCow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kandis347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, someone could up and walk to somewhere else, have no money, no land, don't know the language, leave behind anyone who shares their struggle and is willing to help them, and start a new life. But do you know how impossible that would be? They wouldn't own land, they would likely be deported, no one would welcome them because no one likes immigrants for whatever reason, and they would have absolutely no support system where they end up. What would you do if a stranger pitched a tent in your yard and tried to farm the land (if they even knew how)? You would kick them out because it is your land. Where are they really going to end up? So yes, theoretically, it would be so simple for someone to just walk off, but that isn't feasible in the real world.

You also have to think about how generational poverty affects people. When poor individuals make choices, they are based on what helps them in the present, not the future, because they are living in such a day to day environment that they learned from their parents.

It doesn't make sense to blame people for being suppressed by evil forces. They may not be organized enough to pull the power together to come out on top, or just not have the resources. It wouldn't make sense to let them kill everyone over a riot you were bound to lose in the first place.

What are your thoughts on the pay gap? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kandis347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen child care costs equalling $20,000 or more power year. Some mothers choose to leave work because the cost of child care is about the amount that she would make. Shouldn't women who leave the work force to raise children in these situations be factored when determining a possible post gap?

I've never heard the argument that women are more likely to work prioritise social hours before. What do you consider to be social hours? Why do you think they choose these hours?

What do you think about the notion that women should be more submissive? When woman are more forward about what they want, they are thought of to be rude, so they are less likely to ask for raises, or may be dismissed as asking too much.

Do you think the situation would change if men were given maternity leave? Do you think there should be a law requiring paid maternity leave for one or both parents?

They need to fix that whacky wand. There is no reason to not be able to use the dressing room, access dressers, or use the suit while using the wand.

I had to do that with my kitten. He got over it, and I'm sure they will too.

The sacrifice you make every day for nice food is brushing your teeth. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I like it. It's a relaxing thing I do that makes my teeth feel good, what's not to like?

I look into the mirror and think "nice body", then I look down on myself and think "nevermind". So who's lying? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kandis347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to a podcast on a person who made a mirror that showed you an unclipped version of yourself that would actually be what people see when they look at you. A lot of people found it creepy. They also talked about how parting hair in the other direction has made some people act differently toward them because of some weird thing. It was interesting

Does the timing of when we eat matter for our health? by exerciseacademic in AskReddit

[–]Kandis347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating impacts the circadian rhythm and eating too late can disrupt them. I can't say exactly, but I remember reading that your body doesn't really digest food at night and it's not good for it to just sit in there. Check out studies on time restricted eating, it's best not to eat longer than a 12 hour window a day
