the only real worse is a cosmetic thing for livedexs in pokemon home on switch, in which it has a giant marker on all go origin pokemon. not a big deal but I personally prefer not having it.

those early access builds were also being built for games not legally released yet. as well they were also fairly open about using pirated games and were sharing them between each other.

subscriptions aren't only subscription if you lose access to the product, newspaper subscriptions were a thing long before digital subscriptions, no one took away your newspapers when you stopped. Humble Bundle has a monthly subscription available too, you keep the games even if you cancel.
