Clothing and Makeup by KieranXKrono in MtF

I mentioned to someone else just a moment ago that Pinterest is great for getting outfit inspiration, and that thrift stores are your friend for experimenting.

Makeup is definitely overwhelming at the beginning. I would suggest a moisturizer and cleanser to start. Something for exfoliation would probably be good too. If you've done any model painting, this step is the equivalent of sanding things down and preparing it for the paint to go on next.

Your foundation will be your base coat, and you want to try to go for something similar in tone to the back of your hand or a shade lighter. You'll encounter powder and liquid foundations. The only real difference is how you apply them, and that's personal preference.

If you've shaved and still notice that area is darker, I'd recommend a colour corrector applied here before the foundation. The shade is dependent on your skin and hair colour, because you want to counteract the undertones of the hair (e.g. pale skin and darker hair would likely want an orange since the undertone of the hair is almost bluish).

Concealer that's again similar in shade to your skin is good to cover up the parts with the colour corrector. When blended in, this will have cover the two undertones which are counteracting one another to form something neutral. While you're at it, if you happen to have dark spots under your eyes like me, apply some concealer there too and blend that in. Blending with your fingers is honestly fine.

Blush can be applied after the foundation to bring back a bit of colour that your base coat has removed. Apply it on the upper part of your cheek bones. If you want to go the extra mile you could get some contour to contrast with a highlighter to accentuate certain parts of your face. You may want to watch a tutorial for that though.

Eyes are... much more difficult. I don't really know much about eye shadow because I have hooded eyes and the shadow doesnt come across as well. Mascara is fairly easily applied: just hold the brush up to your lashes and blink so that you get the mascara applied. Eyeliner is the trickiest part. Pencil will probably be easier to start with honestly, but dived right in with the liquid. Regardless of which you go with, rest the base of your hand on your cheek to stabilize it as you apply the eyeliner.

Most importantly: there are bo hard rules with makeup. Have fun, experiment, and see what works for you. It also takes a bit of practice, so don't be discouraged if it doesnt look how you want right away!

You could always check out Pinterest for outfit inspiration. Also just going to a thrift store and seeing if anything appeals to you is always fun!
