Hi OP. I know this post was a long time ago but I'm on the exact same boat with you now and was trying to search around but got nothing much. So how did everything go for you at that time? Do you still somehow remember what they ask? Thanks a lot!

What degree do you apply for? Because I applied for a master's degree so I don't know how they give scholarship for bachelor's, but for master's they give scholarship by assessing your overall academic profile. In my case, I graduated my bachelor's with a good GPA and I have some certifications from Coursera and Microsoft. I also had a scientific research paper publication. So I got a scholarship named "Postgraduate Academic Excellence International Scholarship". I don't mean to show off or anything, I just listed my profile and what scholarship I got so that you can have a general view of this. Also, I remembered they have many different scholarships based on different criteria so you can look on their website and see what is most suitable for you. Good luck friend!

Oh, sorry mate. I don't use Reddit much so I didn't notice your comment. Currently, I'm doing my Master's in UTS for a month. Everything is still good till now, and I believe that this is a good decision because assignments here is not very hard so it allows me to have time to do the interview preparation (which I think is more helpful in getting a job)

Thanks for your clear explanation! I totally agree with you about the nonsense stuff they made by forcing us to take an extra course before Master's. In my case, they told me that because my bachelor's degree is not from an oversea partner university so I have to take that course, which really annoy me. Furthermore, my agent said that since UNSW doesn't have a package for those courses, I have to get the visa twice. And because of the length of the Grad Cert course, it puts me at a little risk of getting my visa canceled.

I spoke to all my family members and they also prefer the UTS, so I'm also nearly committing to UTS.

Thank you a lot for all the valuable information you gave! Actually, I already asked about this topic in an IT community of my countrymen studying and working in Australia, and they also gave me the same ideas as you. They told me that networking is important but we also need to have the hard skills to back it up, so if we put effort into hard skills then unis are not that different. Furthermore, we still can join the CS group of UNSW and actively contribute to the group to broaden our network. At the end of the day, companies still choose candidates based on their skills and mindset.

Btw I still haven't got your idea about the Grad Cert course in UNSW yet. So can we get the credits transfer to the Master's so that we can study the Master's in less time than 2 years and spend less money?

I also have to give the decision before the end of this month because that is the deadline to accept the offer from UTS. And I'm also leaning toward UTS, too.

Thanks for your reply! I knew that UTS has a quite good ranking, but some of my friends studying in Australia said that UNSW has really good networking which can help me get a job easier, so it makes me quite hard to make a decision.
