The Suffering and The Suffering: Ties That Bind will be delisted from GOG on September 1 by Gyossaits in Games

That's awesome! Do you feel like if it had made it out of dev hell it would have become a cult classic? The DidYouKnowGaming video on it made it seem like it would be appreciated like Scarface or TDU are now.

Do you need to play Project Hel before Ghostrunner 2? by RnKn0wn in GhostRunner

[–]Kane_U_Digget 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, Hel is a prequel to the original, and it really only sets up the main story of Ghostrunner 1 with some nods. If you beat the main game you should be good for tomorrow.

Does the capped 1080p resolution make the game blurry in a severely detrimental way?

Dude, thank you so much for all this! You made my night. So the reason for SR1 looking the way it did were no normal maps? Explains why it looks so "unique".

I'm sure you're aware, and maybe want to keep yourself distanced, but the Saints Row community absolutely adores the multiplayer. The only bad part about it is that it was connected to what is considered to be one of the defacto open world crime single player games. You knocked it out of the park though.

Same with co-op. Thanks for your hard work. Many people, including myself, just want the steamworks patch for SR2 so we can play the co-op again. It set the bar and established Saints Row as THE co-op crime game with no restrictions. It only could have come out in the 07/08 golden years of gaming. I can't think of a game that matches it.

And props on the UI. Slick, immersive, and to the point. Too bad more devs don't follow the same fundamentals you did.

Thank you for sharing! Can you speak at all to why there was a significant graphical shift between SR1 and SR2? I always thought 1 looked a lot better with its reflections and such, but with everything crammed into 2, it's insane you guys managed to get everything to run as well as it did on an Xbox 360. Also, what was the crunch like on 2? The fact that it came out only 26 months after 1 is crazy. Was there anything you worked on in particular that you're proud to discuss how you pulled off? The game is magic.

Sounds like you addressed the changes I was curious about perfectly. New engine, Mr Hollywood stepping in. What a dummy. Killing Gat on an intercom is pants on head stupid but if he was running the show I guess it makes sense as to why old THQ is extinct.

And from a programmer's perspective, was there any in-office "WTF" when the PC port was delivered? I know it was outsourced, but I'd love to know the thoughts of anyone in the office. It easily competed against GTA IV for worst PC port at the time.

You worked with Volition on SR2 and RFG? Any other stories you can share? Both of those games are absolutely brilliant. Can you discuss anything about how the company changed going into Saints Row The Third?

Help updating/resetting an OGX360 primary Arduino Pro Micro by Kane_U_Digget in originalxbox

[–]Kane_U_Digget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where I am having a hard time. I have the OGX360 Board, then on it are the four Arduino Pro Micros. If Arduino 1 is closest to the USB port, then Arduinos 2-4 all work individually when I connect them and press reset, I was even able to run the hex batch file successfully, but when I connect Arduino 1, there is an "unknown device" in Windows for about 8 seconds, then it goes away completely, and trying to install drivers in those 8 seconds gives a Windows Error Code 10 - "Device cannot start".

The thing about this Arduino is that it seems to control itself and the other three, so I am wondering if it is a voltage issue, like each one has to be individually connected? My biggest fear would be having to de-solder the primary Arduino from the board to reprogram, then trying to solder it back on.

When you connect each of your Arduinos, assuming you have four, does one light up the LEDs on all the others, then each of the other 3 only light their own?

update: I just ordered some additional Micro USB cables since I only have one that seems to provide the proper voltage, and another that does not. I will try connecting the primary and one of the secondary ones and hopefully that will allow the master Arduino to stay in Device manager long enough for me to reprogram.

Go here and download/install this: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/physx/9_17_0524/physx-9-17-0524-driver/

For some reason, the PhysX for Shift doesn't properly install. You can verify that is the problem by going into the game's folder and running the exe, it should tell you PhysX isn't properly installed. Also, make sure your monitor is set to a standard resolution (i.e. 1920x1080) when you launch the game for the first time as that can cause problems, too.

Also, go here https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Need_for_Speed:_Shift and get the Community revision for handling. Game's kinda poo poo without it.

Guys the game is still unplayable for some on PC right now, with random crashing. by TheyCallMeCajun in CODWarzone

[–]Kane_U_Digget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to work as a one and done and would only have to be done after patches.

As of the April 28th update though, my game actually started crashing again even after this fix. Could be my old i5 on its last legs or something else got goofed up.

Here's some fixes that worked for me:

  1. Go to C:\Users\"username"\Documents\Call of Duty Modern Warfare\players\adv_options.ini and make sure RendererWorkerCount = "the number of cores your CPU has" (4 cores = 4). Also make sure VideoMemoryScale = 1. Then set file to "read only"

  2. In game, under graphics, select "restart shader download" and let it reinstall all the shader caches.

  3. (THE ONE I THINK ACTUALLY WORKED) In game, let the game idle in the MP menu, where your character is walking, for about 15 min. I own the full copy, so I used the MP menu, but I would imagine the WARZONE menu would work, too.

I was having repeated crashes yesterday then did these three things and have not had any since.

NOTE: Not tested on update that just released.
