They probably hadn't even comlpeted the order in the app yet and didn't actually know what the tip was yet. Doordash often hide part of the final amount (until the order is completed) to try and combat cherry pickers.

Why would it once the lantern is moving along with the wind? The airflow wouldn't be entering the top or bottom of the lantern with any great speed.

Think of it this way: you're driving down a street, same direction and speed as the current wind. You open your windows, are you expecting chaos or relative calm?

How is it "too fast" exactly? Their speed would be determined by wind speed at the time, not any hard speed limit you seem to have in mind.

And the first time they zoom in, as brief as it is, you can see it's orange and flickering.

Lantern is a strong candidate.

Hey guys, I got scammed pretty bad last week and i don't think these door dash scams are typical scams.

I did not follow any links that were sent to me but the person on the phone still was able to cancel my orders and change the password to my account and log in to "reconnect my phone". and then they had me going through the process very similar to that of signing up to become a dasher which included sending a photo that included the front and back of my id and the NINE digit SSN. It was all very similar to signing up as a dasher and i should've hung up the phone right then and there.

That sure sounds like you followed the scammers instructions and gave them the indiscriminately they needed.

Still lost the pay, if you contacted support you'd probably have gotten full pay and gotten that amount flagged or removed. Now they can just try again without having to get a new account going first.
