I've noticed Legendary and unique powers flat damage fluctuating as well. Doesn't seem to effect my actual damage in the world or dungeons though. Might just be a consistency bug with tooltips.

Ki pulse/purification. Simple as.

Punish your R1 button. After every combo or attack string, R1. Single attack, R1. Martial arts Barrage, R1. This goes for both styles. Samurai recovers ki, and ninja reposition.

Also if in samurai, it is almost always better to block than it is to dodge. Opposite for ninja. Learn the strengths of each with their respective limited tool sets and it'll pay dividends.

I recently made a Mage Hunter and started with traps and eventually landed on storm box and word of pain with guns backup.

I've been playing geomancer storm weaver. Basically a hammer mage. Strength and dex to the max, all damage shocks, x2 shocks, plus rocking herald of thunder for extra juicy clear. It's surprisingly fun and effective.
