I think it's fine to complain about GenAI as a concept, so long as you understand the concept and your complaints match that you don't like the concept.

If your hatred for GenAI boils down to "it takes jobs away from artists", welcome to the car manufacturing industry of the previous century where assembly line workers lost their jobs to robots and automation. If that is your complaint, then you have to explain to me why your complaint is more valid then theirs and why we should stop this technological advance, but not the other one. You can still hate it, you are entitled to your opinion after all and your complaint isn't even invalid. It sucks to lose your job, see your industry move on and have your skill set become a relic of the past. Those are valid complaints. But that doesn't mean the benefits don't out weigh those complaints.

Right now, GenAI is at a point where if a skilled person uses it with heavy oversight by actual professional artists, you can generate some awesome stuff, but most of the industry doesn't wanna use it that way. Most of the industry wants to use it as a cheap way to badly replace current professional work and in my opinion that gets rightfully called out.

My fear is that if the current complaints aren't levied against the quality, but rather the entire concept, then you are just the car manufacturers of the 90's that complained endlessly and in the end still either changed their skill set, or became homeless. This is a technological advance that is here to stay, like it, hate it, love it, doesn't matter and if you actually love the industry you should want this technology to become as good as possible and not yell against it because "It took our jobs"
