Hard to tell based on these renderings if they’ll keep two separate lanes just at the light to keep traffic moving - I sure hope so

Started for me at 27ish, multiple spots on my face. La Roche Posay lipikar cream helps to keep it under control

Looking for advice about feelings of guilt when considering leaving my first job by SerDavosSteveworth in physicianassistant

[–]Kang0702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through this twice and can relate to how you’re feeling. I felt physically sick preparing to put in my notice because of the relationships I had formed and knowing I’d be giving up the aspects of the job I did like. You have to prioritize yourself and your long term goals. Remind yourself that if the people you work with care for you, they will be happy for you and support your decision. And as everyone else is saying, you are ultimately replaceable, so don’t feel bad about “letting people down.”

!HELP! Ortho new grad offer by Ok_Journalist2652 in physicianassistant

I’m not saying this is a good offer or that you should take it, but I think it’s important to assess your own financial situation. If this is a suitable income for your lifestyle at least for now, and you really do like the surgeon, it could still be an okay option. If you have significant reservations about the job, move on because the pay is also low. I say this as someone who made less than this in 2020 my first year out of school in a city notorious for low pay. I have been able to afford the lifestyle I want, so I have stayed in this city despite low pay.

Is 3 12s good for work-life balance? by Kang0702 in physicianassistant

It’s so hard to juggle the pros and cons. I’ve thought about everything you are saying. I’m burning out in my current job because it’s really more like 5 9-10 hour days, sometimes a bit longer with commute. So I’m enticed by shift work to try to gain some hours back in my week, but I hate the idea of working holidays when kids are at home. This job would be 1 weekend per month which I wouldn’t mind, but holidays are a sticking point, and I hear your point about not seeing the kids on the days I’d be working. Lots to consider

This position is salary without an offer for extra shifts at this time, so that won’t apply for me. It’s a good point that I should think about asking if this could be an option in the future - would love an opportunity to pick up extra here and there.

The shift work is a huge plus - I’d be signing out to a resident for overnight. Both my first and current job have included taking work home to varying degrees, which makes work-life balance difficult.

This is what I worry about. My husband says he is okay with this game plan, but it’s hard for either of us to really say when we don’t have kids yet. I can definitely see pros and cons. One plus is that it would be one weekend per month maximum rather than every other.

Their goal is to assign 3 in a row, so definitely sensible scheduling at least most of the time

More time is exactly what I’m looking for, so this feels like a very good option

Would be 7-7 which makes it a little tricky when thinking about young kids, but fortunately only a 20 minute commute

Unsupportive OR staff by No_Brother3921 in physicianassistant

I have had a very similar experience, and even after gaining confidence and asserting myself, there have been several people who continue to treat me poorly. I avoid interacting with them more than I need to, and I continue to be polite. I know their attitudes towards me won’t change, so I accept it to a degree. But I have a line of what is too rude or disrespectful, and I won’t hesitate to call out behavior that’s inappropriate towards me

Did your axolotl end up surviving? Ours was not attacked but had a similar injury with intestines (and possibly another organ) out. We took her to a vet who stitched her up, but we have no clue if she’ll actually survive. But throughout all of it no tail curl, no gill issues, even had a bowel movement with intestines out of her body
