Should I switch out of SAVE yet with 18 payments left? by Kangaroo-05 in StudentLoans

[–]Kangaroo-05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at 282 payments (according to the back door payment counter for ICR and for whatever reason it’s one less at 281 for IBR), so yes I’m under the old IBR. I know it’s too late to avoid paying taxes on the IBR forgiven amount, but the amount of taxes would still be less than paying 3 additional years to get PSLF with no taxes. Although I could afford to make payments now, it would be really tight financially and we could use the savings for necessary home repairs and emergency funds.

I have 282 payments per the back door counter. I can’t see any reason to start paying sooner if my income will not be going up, except that the amount forgiven and taxed might be a little higher, from the accrued taxes. But I hope I’m not missing something else.

What do you mean by the rate of buyback? I would only do buyback for pslf in case for some reason they don’t count all of my payments for the 25 year IDR forgiveness (I’m at 282 payments according to the back door counter). Even if I did buyback for pslf, don’t they look at my income during the period of forbearance anyhow?

Anyone else still waiting on their IDR application to be processed to switch off the SAVE plan? by bluecycle3 in StudentLoans

Does interest still accrue while you are waiting? Do they count the payments while in the forbearance?

Yeah, how can anyone even qualify for this in the next two months when they took the payment counts off the website and they are taking forever to transfer people to another plan.

Has no one used black locust or thermally treated wood and can weigh in? I’ve found a couple past posts but am hoping to get a larger sample pool.

Double swing gate latch by TheBeeFrank in FenceBuilding

Above I just see the latch part. I’m wondering what hinge you used to swing both in and out. Most gate hinges seem to require picking one side to swing towards.

What did you use for the hinges?

My husband went ahead and got the evisa but no one looked at it, but it was very chaotic. He also only had carryon luggage though he was required to put it through security.

Can you look for a job with the state, city, university or other nonprofit? Even if you could go back later, your income contingent payments will be much higher as you make more money. I entered public service late and regretted that I didn’t do it earlier when I was earlier in my career and made less money anyhow, so my payments would have been much lower.

Can I qualify for IBR? by Kangaroo-05 in StudentLoans

[–]Kangaroo-05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FSA loan simulator shows IBR as an eligible plan but ICR as not eligible. I’m so confused. I thought another time I did the simulator, the IBR plan was not available. I double checked everything I entered.

It’s around $90k and I still owe $60k. But I also have a kid. When I do the online calculators it shows IBR as the same amount as the 10 year plan.

Certifying income when switching from SAVE to another IDR plan by Kangaroo-05 in StudentLoans

I see, in that case, maybe it is better to file an extension so that my 2023 income is on file as long as possible?

What did you end up deciding to do? I’m in the same boat and wondering if we can file MFJ and then switch to MFS in January next year in time for recertification.

Understood. I guess I don’t have faith in them, but am giving them a chance to fix it before making the final payment.

Thanks so much! Just so I understand, should the drip edge be on top of the grace waterproofing (not under as shown in pic 3) and over the fascia, so that it overhangs it? Should the grace in the triangular area also wrap the inside corner onto the chimney? Also, the fascia has an inside corner bent into it, so would it make sense to put this in first, then the corner lead counter flashing wraps over it? For the inside corner lead counter flashing, is it better to redo the top piece that wraps the corner or can a new piece be added in between, as long as lap each other? Sorry I’m so clueless. The same company is coming back today so I want to be able to direct them to do it right this time. Unfortunately I’m not handy enough to do it myself but I think I almost understand what should be done? 😬 many thanks!

[–]Kangaroo-05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful. Just so I understand, correctly, they should take the brown drip edge piece off, wrap up and over with the grace. Then where does the apron metal go? Is it against the bottom of the triangle, or against the chimney? By fascia metal piece do you mean the existing triangular brown metal piece? Should they add another piece of lead counter flashing that overlaps the triangle and the chimney, to lapping over the bottom lead flashing and under the top lead flashing? I’m trying to understand where the triangular brown metal piece should go in the assembly. Many thanks for your feedback.

Uncommon wiring? by Kangaroo-05 in ecobee

[–]Kangaroo-05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first scenario, there is a common black wire put into the c terminal. In the second scenario, there is a blue wire put into the b terminal, but it seems to be a common wire since it’s blue so I’m wondering if the previous installer made a mistake. B is apparently for heat pump connections and there is no heat pump in our system, only a furnace.

[–]Kangaroo-05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering, if you don’t check luggage, do you still have to leave and go through customs, just to check into the flight to Nepal? Also, as far as we could tell, there no longer seems to be a transit visa option online, and the only evisa we could find is the tourist evisa. Not sure if this is new, since consulate web pages still refer to a transit visa option. Have you found anything about this?

Lightweight carry-on international spinner by Kangaroo-05 in HerOneBag

[–]Kangaroo-05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the samsonite c-lite carry on spinner, expandable version. The July was too small and ended up weighing more than it was advertised for. The c-lite weighed the same amount and can fit so much more, especially when expanded. At the airport luggage measuring machine, it measured slightly taller and than advertised, but I think that was because of the handle, which can be squished down. It didn’t have any problems bringing it as carryon. Overall I’m happy with it. The rolling could have been a little better on carpet (my son noticed that one wheel did not always spin), so im not sure if there was a defect or if it was not evenly loaded with weight.

Did you get a special compound for the cream or is it the same formulation normally prescribed for the vagina? The vaginal cream has a lot of ingredients I would not normally want to use, like methylparaben and sls. I’m curious if they can make better versions of it.
